I was perusing the brackets for this tournament and saw the Cardinals in Pool e against the Batbusters - Haning. Is this the same team that won the ASA Gold National Championship?

If so, I wish I was in Boulder to see this one. I know the Cardinals beat one of the Batbuster teams a couple of years ago, but it was not the Haning team.

The Haning team is supposed to be the Cream of the Crop and then some.

    Good Luck Cardinals!

Good luck Cardinals. My only question is why there is only one NC team in this. i counted at least 4 VA teams and quite a few Tenn. teams. Go show them guys that our girls can play too!!!:woohoo:

I think I'm correct in saying this batbuster team has many from the UCLA Junior Varisty. Should be a good test, but I know the Cardinals will do well. As long as the umps are fair to the east coast teams when they play the teams from the west, the Cardinals will make a game out of it and could shock the west again!

Can't speak for any other NC team but the Blues have tried for three years to get in this event. We are always told it is full and there is a huge waiting list. Have not been at this game near as long as Ray and his group so we have not cracked this field yet.

The Lady Blues and a few other NC teams would do very well in this tournament ,but as LBlues1 has said a very hard one to get into. One of the few that require a track record to get into. Lady Blues keep trying with your org. I'm sure the door will open. This one has the most coaches I ve have ever seen at any location. All games are played at two locations, close to each other not spread out.You play at 8am or 8pm and coaches are in the stands. The lexington tournament this weekend is another if you wait you are not able to get into.

I talked with the coaches from the Boulder Girls and they were thinking about adding more teams for this year. They were going to have these expansion teams play on the Longmont fields. The only problem is these fields are quite a distance from Stazio and probably won't get many college coaches. Although it may be a good way to get a foot in the door. I do not know what the final outcome was.

I would look for the coaches during the summer. I know they were at the Plantation, FL tournament this past summer. Like I said though, I do not know if they ever did add the additional fields to the tournament.

Here is the link to the BGCS wesite: http://www.bouldersoftball.org/.

You can contact the president of the organization if you have not already done so:
