    Analysis

To me Baseball is a great game to sit and study. It's like watching a chess match in the fact that you can really analyze most of the action vs. some other sports - EXCEPT MUCH BETTER than a chess game for sure. Coach vs. Coach decisions, Pitcher vs. Batter decisions.

Analyzing Statistics (Though you can only really compare players on the same team as the diversity in score keeping is as broad as the universe). Seeing what coaches value offense vs. defense, etc.

You just get to totally remove yourself from your work environment and study what's unfolding before you. A hitters count, no outs and a runner on first - Doe's the coach hit and run?????

For me - it is all about giving 100% in a very difficult game.

    I love watching that.

100% all the time - every time - even when you suck and are getting your ass beat. You play the game hard - you respect the game - and you never ever give up or give in.

You do that until they bury you. Or you bury them.

You push them - they push you - and you push back. But you never ever stop pushing.

And you do that with pride - and dignity - and a reverence for the opportunity and a respect for your opponents.

Every single pitch. Every single play. You just push - and push and push.

I watched my Dad do it - I did it - and now I watch my boys do it.

That is what the game means to me.
