I've been reading the board for a while now so I finally decided to post. I'm not one to post just for the sake of it, only if I feel I can contribute.

Just to introduce myself, I currently caoch a 17U team in the Charlotte area that played tournament ball until this fall. During the fall Bill Capps decided to form a new league for showcase teams. This was the first year and except for a few hiccups it went well. The teams were Bill Capps-Sox, John Thurstons-Black Sox, The 16U and 18U Megastars, Bruce Bolicks'-Cardinals (Denvers Legion team), and the Carolina Clash (us). The league has a website at www.cpfsl.org where clicking on the teams logo, then on their roster will take you to a page where you can click on players names to see their personal page with stats, gpa, sat, etc.

Our team consists of players from Independence, Weddington, North Meck, and Piedmont.

We wound up playing at Lenoir-Rhyne, Mars Hill, Limestone, USC-Upstate, Pfeiffer, Wingate, Gardner-Webb, High Point, and got rained out at App. St.

I've been coaching for about 15 years, and doing travel teams for about 10.

My youngest son plays for me, and that makes it a little difficult because you know I can't push him to the college coaches, he has to do it on his own. He did have a good fall, leading the team @ 23-49, 6 dbls,3 trpls, 1 hr. He played second mostly, a little at short, and played the fall season without an error.

I know some of you on here will probably know Rob Lyerly. He'll play SS on our HS team and my kid will play second.

Anyway, this seems to be a good group. I'll keep reading and post when I can. I like reading the posts here.

    Thanks Guys

I appreciate the welcome. And by the way, I left off West Stanly as one of the schools represented on my team. I know if one of those guys read it and I didn't correct it they'd never let me live it down!

    Welcome Aboard Blademan!!!

We are always glad to have new members. I'm looking forward to your posts. Don't hesitate to ever chime in on any thread. One's opinion is what makes this board fun....especially Red Bear's. He has a way to say a lot in a few words...unlike some of us.:D
