congrats to Madison from a McDowell fan...you have represented your community, the NW4A Conference and the state as a whole very well. Hope to see you in the majors one day.

BTW, Augusta Greenjackets is the Giants affailiate in the South Atlantic League, that would be an extra treat for the locals if he was assigned to their team next year.

Depending on how soon they hammer out a deal, he could be a Greenjacket THIS year.

That's not likely to happen according to a VP with the Giants....the want to 1)Get him signed 2) send him straight to rookie ball get him working on a few other pitches and then get him some reps 2-3yrs in the minors.....either way its a nice beginning to a big league career.

Article from San Francisco paper. They definitely seem to believe Bumgarner could be on the fast track. The comments about his breaking stuff are interesting. Some of the scouting reports had raised questions about that part of his game, but the Giants obviously had a very different opinion.

    Interestedonlooker,

Sorry for replying late....oot this weekend. They will take Madison at a slow pace. He's young getting ready to enter a "brand new world"....pitching and otherwise.

He will be developed and groomed at a pace that will have him ready for the big leagues and be able to make this best of it when he gets there.

    They

will not rush a guy that they are going to have this much invested in. Why would you? They had a big draft and they are trying to put the pieces together for the future. Rushing him or putting him on the fast track that is just not going to happen. How he performs and how ready he is will be the only determining factor in how fast he moves up. Some guys need more time than others. You are talking about a HS pitcher here. Whats the rush? Let him develop in their system. If they didnt think he could make it to the league (one day) they would not have picked him #10.
