It was his first start since being on the disabled list for two weeks. He has fought some nagging injuries over the last year, which have probably prevented him from getting a spot start in the bigs.

Congrats to Matt. I hope his health remains and he can reach the big leagues soon. I am sure that his former coaches are as proud as can be of him. He is always a class act on and off the field.

    Very proud

Matt is a fine young man and is still very young. He graduated at 17 so he is on track to get a shot. Matt had a slight injury at the end of last year and some minor problems that put him on the dl for a couple of weeks.

    Proud indeed

Matt has battled some adversity injury-wise and the trade to Texas was a bit unsettling for him at first. Glad to see him throwing well again and getting used to his new organization. A healthy left arm should get him a shot.

The injury last year was turf toe of all things, but it caused him to change his mechanics a bit, which strained his shoulder. He didn't take a lot of time off in the winter, so he had a bit of a tired arm at the end of spring training. All pretty minor stuff that a lot of young prospects go thru when their innings initially go up. I expect him to get called up in late summer.
