I heard last night that the Texas Rangers may call up Matt Harrison (Stem, S. Granville) from AAA Oklahoma City to pitch Tuesday or Wednesday night against the Angels. Vicente Padilla is the scheduled starter for Wednesday and has been nursing a collarbone injury. He is supposed to throw in the bull pen today, but if he experiences pain/discomfort, Texas is supposed to call up Harrison for the start.

He starts Tue. 7/8 against LA Angels

Just got word that Matt got the call to the bigs! He is supposed to start Tue. at 7:00 CT (8 ET) in Arlington. All the big lefty's hard work has paid off. I'm so happy for this guy! It's been a marvelous journey since he was a shy h.s freshman who never talked...hence his nickname "Gab"...to his remarkable senior year when he was drafted by Atlanta...to his patience as he worked his way up the minor league ladder, enduring a trade along the way. We'll be pulling for him to stick now that he's made it!

Congratulations... He is replacing Eric Hurley in the rotation. I was hoping to see Hurley throw the other day in Baltimore but he missed that start due to the injury he is dealing with. Saw Hurley throw down in Jupiter a few years ago... but anyways -- GOOD LUCK TO HARRISON, BEAT THE ANGELS! GO A'S!

7 IP, 2 runs, and in line for a win if the Rangers pen can hold on in the 9th.

Bullpen holds on...Matt gets the win! A very solid debut. He kept the Angels off balance most of the night. I'm so proud of this young man!

Congrats to Matt, his family, and the entire South Granville baseball family. I can only imagine how much this day meant to all of you. Keep up the good work. We are all pulling for you.
