There is not enough that can be said about Jeremy Freeman. Gardner-Webb is getting a GREAT young man and an awesome competitor. He has pitched great in ALL three games he has pitched but doesnt have a win to show for it. THIS IS NOT HIS FAULT. He battled time and again last night to come out of a bad situation. The difference in the ballgame was a runner that was PUT on base by the ump when he said the batter was hit. A questionalbe call. The run scored on a error on a fl ball to left field. Again, not Freeman's fault. Hang in there Jeremy keep pitching your best and the win will come!!! As for the Titan defense, it looked good last night to with the exception of that on play on that fly ball.

Well wow, after last nights game all I got to say is Mcdowell is the real deal. I don't know if Johnson was quite throwing 90 but I would say both pitchers were consistent with throwing 85 and pumping a couple up to 87 88. Jon Sharpe for Watauga was amazing until about the 6th inning where he just ran out of gas. The only mistake I saw that the Mcdowell pitcher made was throwing too many first pitch curveballs. Down 1-0 going in to the fifth it seemed Watauga was starting to figure that out. With two outs and one man on Trey Dunnigan goes up sitting on curveball. He gets one right over the plate and drills it. Once the spark started it didn't stop. The thing you have to do if you want to beat Watauga is contain their big innings. Once they get a hit, they can get 5 or 6 straight and before you know it you go from being up 1 to down 5. Watauga is now outscoring their opponents 33-3 at home this year. They got North Davidson on Saturday and then a dogfight on Monday. Good luck in Sawmills Pioneers!

watched the game last night and was impressed by the improvements made so far by mcdowell. it was 1-0 through 4 2/3 when Dunnigan hit a mistake pitch about 370. Johnson threw well and seemed as if Watauga could hit any fastball but struggled with breaking stuff. Pioneers showed what a good team does- they found a way to win. Good game and good building block for the titans, They arent there yet but they are getting closer by every game.

freeman has thrown amazingly this year. just a few stat lines-21 innings 42 strikeouts,3 earned runs,1 hbp-1 more made up by the umpires lol- and only 3 walks-but heres the kicker 3 losses. great job on the mound kid just keep throwing and the team just has to find ways to win!

another hard loss last night at watauga for the titans- graet job on the mound by Johnson, mcdowell just had one bad inning.
