I would like to commend Salisbury radio station WSAT 1280am for broadcasting the West Rowan State playoff game vs Jay M Robinson. They did a great job, plus the interviews with the winning pitcher and coach was great. I think this is good for Fastpitch Softball. Hope to see more of this in the future.

That is great to hear about WSAT. I really hope the papers start doing a better job of covering the games next year. This board is the only place you can find out results

    NOTH WILKESBORO HAS TWO NEWSPAPERS.
ONE IS PUBLISHED 3 TIMES A WEEK AND THE OTHER ONCE.
BOTH PAPERS C0VER ALL OF THE COUNTIES HIGH SCHOOL IN GREAT DETAIL. I DON'T LIVE IN WILKES BUT READ THEIR PAPERS.
I THINK IF A SCHOOL SCHEDULED A MUMBLYPEG CONTEST THEY WOULD COVER IT TOO.
A LOT OF MEDIA COULD TAKE SOME LESSONS FROM THEM

gaston gazette normally does a good job or at least does something....... i will have to grab a edition of the Monday GG.

rutherford county's Daily Courier does an outstanding job with their 3 hs team coverage....photos, quality write-up and do the interview coach's quote. shelby star does great baseball but rarely any softball, but there again.........coaches/fans/supporters have got to push for the coverage.

great report back on the radio coverage for those State Champions, cometfan. any plans their to for any games this year(reg season) or just the playoffs again? They deserve a huge :applause: and thank you email

homerun......any link or email to send them a thank you Note.

southerngent........me too but hopefully that have recovered from a couple of Off years with their coverage. it was one of the area's best  PG has prolly heard from a few readers over the last year or so :xyzthumbs

LangstonWertz from the observer fishwrap, who is an active tbr member, stated not too long ago ............its the sheer volume of schools in the coverage area and Staffing concerns.

lets encourage all our local fishwraps to get onboard........emails are free!!

    FP Coverage

I have tried since last fall to get the Charlotte Observer or even the neighbor section to print the names of the Lady Blues players that signed college scholarships, all of which were from HS w/i the area of the Charlotte paper. In fact, I mentioned all the HS and the all-conference and all-state players. To date nothing placed in the paper. However, baseball, soccer, basketball signee are in all the time. I do have to say, they had signee from some HS so maybe it is just the fact it came from an organization. Would love to see a radio station broadcast some of the big playoff games in the area and around the state. Kings Mtn. must have a pretty good team out there. They beat a very good St Stephens team. :applause: :xyzthumbs

CF..I glanced at the GG this morning and all I saw articles on Dale Jr. The preview must not have made it. Let me take a look at it this afternoon and if the preview is in there, I'll get you a copy and send it your way...

That's funny that you mentioned that LBlues. I'm trying to put together a radio show (weekend) for HS Softball/Baseball in the Charlotte area (WFNZ)....and since I know absolutely nothing about softball, except what I read here, of course, I'm going to count on you fine folks to help me out...keep your fingers crossed!
