    Mellena Helms plays for Central Cabarrus HS and the Carolina Curve. She has verbally committed to play softball at USC Upstate. The Spartans have added another good one! She is a tremendous player winning All Conference, All District and TEAM MVP honors in her first 2 seasons of HS ball and looks to be off to a third this year. She's been an integral part of helping the Curve with the success we have had the past many seasons. She literally can play, and probably has, any position on the field. Upstate has always been Mellena's #1 choice and I am so happy for her and her family that the dream came true! She will do big things at the next level. Congratulations Mel and mom and dad, Nancy & Robert!

    Congrats Mellena!

    So happy for you. It's great when a plan come together. Coach Hawkins and Upstate is getting a fantastic young lady and a very good player to boot. We wish you the best.

    Congrats Mel,Upstate getting a very solid player and one of the best young ladies i have ever had the chance to meet,they don't come much better then this one....Good Luck

    Congratulations Mellena! We are so proud of you and have enjoyed all of the years that we spent together. Nancy and Robert, you have raised such a fine young lady. I remember when they were little and this dream seemed so far away. Wow, time flies!!!!
