I saw an inning or 2 of this over the weekend on TV. USA vs. Japan.

What is the pitching distance on this? Definitely not getting to home plate as fast as the Women.

    Not real exciting.

    Mens Fastpitch

Speaking from personal experience. The pitching distance is 46' and trust me, it is coming faster than the womens game.

These guys are amazing. Had the great honor of working a camp with Bill Hillhouse. Watched him teach some girls how to pitch. Amazing. Nothing normal about his teaching. I've been around a ton of softball, he is one of a kind. Pitching coaches should experience him one time.

Since I'm not familar with softball pitching coaches, what makes Coach Hillhouse unique? Where is he from? Where are his camps?

The sport started as a men's game.... NC had some great teams...
Some may have started as BB players, but moved to the FP game early
Go to the NC Softball Hall of Fame...
You can learn where this game's origins came from.

    http://www.northcarolinaasa.com/hall_of_fame.html

The year Ray was inducted, there were also 2 men's fastpitch players
    honored.
Did you know that Kay Yow is in the NC ASA Softball Hall of Fame..
    as a slowpitch player...
Did you know that ASA has boy's fastpitch, 10U, 12U, etc..
Also, the first ASA fastpitch National champion from North Carolina
was not the Cardinal's last year. The Warriors from Chapel Hill won it twice, in 1992 and 2004.

As for Bill Hillhouse..... check out his http://www.houseofpitching.com/

Signed to play with us on the 2005 tour..never came to be, but he can make it go.

Men that can actually pitch and teach... what a great idea...

There used to be men's fast pitch in N.C., S.C., Va., Ga., Fl., etc.

We quit playing somewhere around 1995 because all the pitchers aged out. There are a lot of legendary pitchers out there, some who teach now, and there's still some type of league in Charlotte.

Anybody ever hear of a guy named Chuck Seymour (He played out of Texas, mostly I think)? All I can tell you is you don't want to bat off of him!
