I can't remember the last time we had middle school baseball or football in WS/FC schools. I bet it has been at least 20 to 25 years.

Looking back on that age it was always tough navigating playing travel ball at the same time as middle school baseball so maybe it'll work out. Its a shame these kids will not have that feeling of playing for their school until HS

WSFC has had middle school baseball for the past 6 or 7 years, but it hasnt been school sponsored and kids dont have to attend the school to play, just live in the school district, for homeschool/private school kids. But it is competitive and the kids have a good time.

    Union County Middle school Baseball

Union County has baseball, but it's ran as a booster club and organized through Union County Babe Ruth. My understanding is that the only sport covered by the school is basketball. The competition is good overall. The interest has been so high in Union County that most of the middle schools actually have a Varsity (primarily 8th graders) and a JV (most 7th and some 6th graders). Weddington Middle school had over 50 kids try out this year. Last year (before the school was split with Cuthbertson) over 80 boys tried out. There is a way to get it done when (not if) middle school sports are on the chopping block.

Like I said WS/FC schools has no middle school baseball. Glorified Daddy ball. Better than nothing I guess.

But I am glad they had a good time.:grouphug:
