    Making the show?

There is absolutely no way to predict wether a kid will or will not make it to this level. There are a ton of very good baseball people that get paid to make those decisions that are wrong way more times than right. In regards to Bumgardner he has the tools to be drafted very high if he stays healthy and I of course hope thats the case. But the bottom line is there are kids every year with the same kind of tools that never make it to the show for several reasons. And who would have ever thought that Tony Womack from Guilford College would have? There are kids that project well in time for that level. And there are kids that do not project well in time to that level. But that does not mean they will or will not. One thing for sure is there are a ton of outstanding pitching prospects in the 06 and 07 class in NC that all have a very good chance of having the opportunity to make the show. And there are some very good posistion players some mentioned above. Good luck to all the kids with the dream.

For the top players that don't make it:

    - Injuries
    - GF/Spouse
    - Homesickness/family problems
    - Organization changes
    - Teammates
    - Other reasons........

Yep...and I get to see them this weekend...but as always the case, Woodard will probably beat them to the Show. He is the type player that always seems to have a steady rise instead of the Rockets; you know, the one's that are like meteors than quickly fall to the ground.

I'm not talking about Miller and Bard, per se. I wish those guys nothing but success, but players with their calibre. It's like the turtle and the hare footrace

Come "WEST" you college coaches. Braves has just endorsed 2 kids from WNC. I have been poking at Partin for years about the "eastern Impact Baseball website". Hey Braves, our little old HS team is playing the powerful South Charlotte Panthers at Wofford next week. Think we have a chance?

LETS DONT FORGET ABOUT ADDISON JOHNSON AND DUSTIN ACKLEY....THEY ARE TWO OF THE HOTTEST PLAYER OUT RIGHT....JOHNSON IS PITCHING AND HITTING REAL WELL THIS YEAR........AND ACKLEY IS BATTING WELL OVER .550 WITH AT LEAST 10 HR'S............

AND LETS NOT FORGET ABOUT SOME OF THE BEST SWINGING OUTFIELDERS........DREW POULK...KENDRIC BURNEY...AND CJ BEATTY

(NOTE: MR. BEATTY WAS A SLEEPER ALL YEAR LONG AND HE PUT UP SOME VERY GOOD NUMBERS AGAINST SOME TOP PROSPECTS......Rumour has that he is the player of year in his conference!)

I think Ackley has a good shot at it if he keeps his head on straight.

Cameron Maybin is the 31st ranked player in the minor leagues right now.

    Dustin Ackley

On MLB.com, there are videos of many of the high school and college prospects for the draft. I've heard a lot of good things about Dustin Ackley and had a chance to watch his video last night. Man, what a nice, left handed stroke......and he looks like he's got wheels, too. You don't have to worry about him keeping his head on straight. Dad played in the Red Sox organization for 7-8 years, and the Ackleys are a great family. Whether it's the pros or Carolina, Dustin will do well.
