I have mentioned over time about the powercross.org organization that my wife and I support. I thought I would share this information with you guys. Please visit the website @ www.powercross.org to learn more.

Here is an email I received last night from the founders....Great news for Statesville and Powercross founders Jeff and Natalie.

It is only Tuesday ,but so far this week is off to a great start! The boys were out of school yesterday, so we took advantage of this work day. We loaded up a van of our top baseball players and headed to Atlanta to receive hitting instructions from CJ Stewart (http://diamonddirectors.com/). CJ has been a wonderful supporter of Power Cross over the past few years. He has an amazing client list including Kyle Parker (Colorado Rockies), Andruw Jones (NY Yankees), and last years Rookie All-Star Jason Heyward of the Atlanta Braves. After a few hard hours of training with CJ the boys were treated to a suprise visit from Jason Heyward himself! And he wasn't alone, also there to train with CJ were Scott Robinson of the Rockies, Pelvin Nash of the Astros, and L.V. Ware of the Atlanta Braves. The boys were able to hang out with the pros for a while and then watch them taking batting practice. It was a wonderful opportunity for the boys to get to meet someone whom they watch play baseball on television. CJ ask for the boys to share with Jason and his friends a little about Power Cross. I was extremely proud when Ausar spoke up, "We learn about Jesus." he said. It wasn't the sports or the food that Ausar spoke of first, it was Jesus. Around the same time that we had the boys in Atlanta, the board of the MLB Baseball Tomorrow Fund was reviewing the applicants for the 2011 grants they would be handing out. We knew that Power Cross had made it to the final cut, and we had everyone praying that the board would find us a good fit for their funding. We are so blessed to announce that the MLB has decided to support Power Cross in the revitalization of the Abernathy Baseball Park. We do not have all the details just yet, but work will begin on the field in the next couple of weeks. They will be supporting us with about 80% of the total needed for the renovations. We want to thank every one who has been praying for us to receive this funding! Proverbs 16:3 says, "Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed." We just want to say thank you Lord for hearing our prayers, and answering in an amazing way! I can't wait to see how God uses this field to change our community!
