    Chinstraps are BS!!!!!!!!!........

.....as how they are required now!
I'll hand over my truck to anybody who can defend the use of a bungie cord chinstrap that will keep a kid safe. PHHHLLLLGGGHHHH

I've seen my DD have her braces cut out of her lips, TRUST ME on this one its true, yep, braces actually had to be taken out of my kids lips because the helmet that she had on WITH a chinstrap did not keep the facemask from driving into her teeth when she collided with an opponent in the basepath.

Ya'll can bitch about bat pop, or pitchers circles, and then sling snot at the fishman with "the boy in the bubble" blast all you want, but you can not take my truck until you make a solid point of have a BS bungiecord facemask.

........oh, BTW, check this out, no BS, the Ortho/Dentist had LW sit out of play for a month and she could not be in the sun as well.

First tourney she could play was in Richmond, Va. and as it turns out she was on 3B, I'm the 3B coach in the box, and BAM!!!!, the next batter CRUSHED a heymaker down the line and hit LW square in the facemask.
Yep, the same facemask that racked her teeth was the very one that stopped the ball at third.

I can't tell you how happy I was to see my DD OK.....until, the ump called her out for being in the field of play and hit by a live ball. Talk about lawsuits, I could have waxed that guys....nevermind about that, the best thing is my kid was OK and it goes to show all of us that safety in equipment is bigtime important but don't rely on it, but be damn glad we've got it

I thought the last time we discussed the chinstrap in person that I had convinced you that it would work better if worn properly.

Now, I will admit that even if she had been wearing it properly the strap would probably not have prevented her injury at the speed they collided. But the cage wasn't meant to protect her face in a collision; it's meant to keep the ball off of your face.

When the strap is worn properly, it needs to be snug enough and should be placed in the little fold just below the bottom lip. What that does is act like a shock absorber, keeping the cage itself off your face. If you wear it under your chin, all it does is keep the helmet from falling off.

How many miles on that truck?
