Montreat Baseball

    Cameron Duckworth (AC Reynolds HS, 2006) has broken the single season home run record at Montreat College, which was 18 HRs. In a Tuesday double-header he hit 4 home runs to make a total of 20 for this season. He topped it off today with 1 more to make a total of 21 for the season.

    Currently he ranks # 3 in the NAIA in HRs per game, and # 14 in the NAIA with a slugging pct. of .878.

    Congratulations to Cameron as he was also named the Male Athlete of the Year at Montreat for 2009.

    AAC and NAIA Baseball Player of the week

    Congratulations again to Cameron Duckworth, a junior at Montreat College. He was chosen the AAC Conference Player of the week, and the NAIA National Player of the Week, for the week ending April 27.

    Montreat completed the week with a 7-0 record. Cameron finished the week with 8 home runs, 19 RBIs, went 12 for 22 with a batting average of .545 and a slugging % of 1.727 for the week.
    He was 3 for 3 in stolen bases, including a straight steal of home.

    He had back-to-back games with multi-homers, and finished the season with 24 round-trippers.
