    Moors back To Business

    Post 66 Mooresville 5 - Post 342 Rowan 1

'Rising Seniors' took the helm in leading the Post 66 Moors to a win at home over Rowan County last night. Logan Beagle (W) was stellar on the mound thru 7 2/3 allowing only the single run. Ryan James closed holding the score at the final of 5-1 for the Moors. Holden Pender stayed hot at the plate, and the 'big bangers' Ian Edmiston, Nathan Sharp and Jack Edmiston did their job to include Jack 'banging' another 2 run homer off the Pepsi sign. Good Work.

Mooresville Teams Rack up 29 Runs
    Post 66 14, Post 537 15

Game between 2 local teams turned into a track meet Friday night. Post 537 got the win after the Post 66 Moors came all the way back from a early 11-1 deficit, only to end 1 run shy with bases loaded in the 9th, could not have been closer. Along with 29 runs however comes alot of pitchers thru-out the night. On the Mound for Post 66 Moors, Michael Knight started and gave way to Aaron Harr who handed the ball to Garrett Welborne then on to Michael Elwell and finally to Derek Petrosy. Loads of hits by both teams, none bigger than Home Runs by both Ian Edmiston AND Jack Edmiston of the Post 66 Moors.

    Post 66 Moors 5, Mocksville 10
Holden Pender Started and pitched well for the Post 66 Moors. Sam Marshall came on in relief and Andrew Lloyd closed. Mocksville pulled away as the runs dried up for the Moors. Beautiful web gem by Ian Edmiston on a diving glove flip and Seth Hubbard flashed his speed again turning a double into a triple.

    South Rowan 4, Post 66 Moors 6
Moors get another win on an outstanding pitch effort from Ryan James who went 6 2/3. Michael Knight and Derek Petrosky toed middle relief and Alex Cagide closed the game. Mike Elwell led the Rbi train with another hot bat night. Difference here came down to the Moors throwng out several South Rowan runners at Home plate including long distance strikes from Deyren Booth and a spectacular running laser from Jesse Seaford. Some nights it all comes together.

Junior Legion Moors on a Roll

    Post 66 Juniors 3, Carson Juniors 2
At Lake Norman Monday night the Post 66 Junior Moors held on for a win over a very good Carson team. Post 66 Tyler Freeland (W) pitched strong and Jamie Anderson (S) closed out the win. Hunter Shirey and Josh Ladowski led the defense in a tight game thru-out until the Junior Moors broke free with 6th inning hits by Petey Segovia, Devin Renfroe and Jamie Anderson. The Junior Moors remain undefeated with only 4 tough dates left.
    Coach Benfield has them rolling.

    HOT Wednesday

    SENIOR Legion
Mooresville Post 66 Moors 11, Post 342 Rowan County 7
In a hot night at Cawtaba College Logan Beegle pitched (W) a workman 6 innings while the Senior Post 66 Moors held the lead all night over Post 342 Rowan County. Derek Petrosky pitched middle relief and Alex Cagide (S) closed out the win. After early bumps the defense settled nicely as Ian Edmiston put on a clinic at short stop. For the Moors Sam Marshall and Nathan Sharpe came up big with 2 out hits to plate Seth Hubbard who seems to live at 2nd base somehow. Other than adding a dome and fixing the A/C it was a great night of baseball.

Post 66 Junior Moors 3, Post 342 Junior Rowan 2
At Lake Norman High Park the Junior Moors got the most out of big bunts in the battle for first place has they held on to win 3-2 against Rowan County. In the 2nd frame Ryan Hussey walked and Zac Little went old school by bringing him home with a dragbunt. Rowan tied it in the 6th only to see starting pitcher Jamie Anderson bunt Hussey to third, this time Zac Little singled in the winning run. Josh ladowski pitched middle relief and Caleb Poteat (W) came on big to secure the win. Junior Post 66 Moors are 9-0 in conference. They play Saturday AT Carson

    BIG Weekend

    Post 66 Moors 11, South Rowan 2
Mooresville Post 66 kicked off the last weekend of the American Legion regular season with a win at South Rowan last night. The Moors Jack Edmiston drove in the speedy Seth Hubbard in the top of the 1st and the team never trailed. In the 6th Hunter Harvey blasted a 3 run homer to push the lead to 7-1. The Moors gave a total team effort at the plate. Starting pitcher Hunter Harvey (W) cruised thru the sixth, Aaron Harr came on in relief and Andrew Lloyd closed strong to preserve the win. This was the 1st of 5 games the Coach Jeremy Johnson led Moors will play thru Monday so let’s all get behind them and keep the gatorade and groceries coming…

    Lots of Runs Saturday

    Junior Legion
    Post 66 Junior Moors 9, Carson 12
Mooresville Post 66 Junior Moors entered their first loss into the record Saturday at Carson. Riley Zayicek drove in Petey Segovia and the Moors looked great out of the gate. Trailing thru-out the game Carson battled back with 6 runs in the 6th inning. In the top of the 7th the Junior Moors roared back led by Devon Renfro (4-4) with 4 more runs before a based loaded line drive double play put out the lights. Brock Williams (L) got the start on the mound, followed by Caleb Poteat and finally Garret Hall. Junior Moors are 11-1 going into tonight AT Mooresville Post 537.

    Senior Legion Doubleheader
    Post 66 Moors 7, Wilkes County 1
Mooresville Holden Pender (W) got the start on the mound and beat the searing heat as well as Wilkes County 7-1. Andrew Lloyd came on in the 7th to secure the win. With a 4:00 start this game was a battle with the elements. Coach Jeremy Johnson rotated the entire dugout to keep guys fresh. Deyren Booth and Seth Hubbard pesterd away on the bases while the Ian Edmiston led defense carried the day holding Wilkes County in check.

    Post 66 Moors 14, Wilkes County 5
In the night cap the temperture cooled alittle but the bats were hot. Post 66 Moors scored a whopping 10 runs early and never looked back. Michael Elwell (W) pitched well for the Moors holding Wilkes to a single run. Aaron Harr came to his relief in the 6th to finish the game. The Moors picked up 2 wins on the day with every player on the field.

Special Thanks from The Moors to Mr. Harr for the coolers of cold water making a big difference on a hot day. Also Thanks to Laneys Fish Camp for the between game cookies that clearly sparked the 10 run outburst.

    Cross-town

    Post 66 Moors 9, Post 537 7
In a cross- town matchup with playoff implications the Mooresville Post 66 Moors stepped up for a 9-7 victory over Post 537. Well-played game from both teams with the difference being The Big Knocks. The Moors Nathan Sharp knocked an early homer followed shortly by Jack Edmiston with yet another home run blast of his own. Jack Edmiston was not finished, he then hit a triple, next a double and finally when at the plate to attempt ‘hitting for the cycle’ he was intentionally walked. Sam Marshall (W) toed the rubber in fine fashion for 7 innings handing the ball to reliever Michael Knight, Alex Cagide came in to close out the game. See Everyone Tonight For the Moors Final Home Game.

    Post 66 Moors 4, Stanly County 1

The final home game of the regular season for the Post 66 Moors was also their 5th game in 4 days and the men looked a little worn. But they got it done 4-1 over visiting Post 76 Stanly County. Solid defense on the corners as Nathan Sharp at 3rd base, Hunter Harvey at 1st and Dehryren Booth behind the plate all turned in outstanding efforts. Logan Beegle took the mound and held Stanly to 1 run through 7 innings before Aaron Harr combined with Derek Petrosky to finish the game. Coach Jeremy Johnson made 13 pitching changes juggling 10 different pitchers since Friday and the Moors won all 5 games. Well Done Men.

    Post 66 Moors 5, Kannapolis 7
The Moors took to the road needing a win for a share of 2nd place but Kannapolis had other ideas. Even with the loss, Post 66 Mooresville locks up 3rd place with home field in the first round of next weeks playoff. For Post 66, Hunter Harvey got the start and made quick work of his 3 innings, Aaron Haar came on in relief and Alex Cagide finished on the mound. Catcher Sam Marshall made it look easy behind the plate but base running miscues and a shy night at the plate left the Moors short on runs.

Monday, the Post 66 Moors led by Ian Edmiston, Nathan Sharp and Jack Edmiston will begin Playoffs at Lake Norman High Park, game time 7:05

    Post 66 ROLLS Into Playoff...

    Post 66 Mooresville 11, Concord 9
Last evening at Concord the Post 66 Moors reversed the favor by snatching a last inning victory similar to the previous game these teams played. The Moors trailed 9-3 in the 8th before their bats got hot and Nathan Sharp woke everyone with a bases loaded triple. Completeing the come back Michael Knight drove in the go ahead runs with a triple of his own in the top of 9th. Coach Johnson spread the pitching burden sending 5 to the mound in starter Holden Pender, then Michael Elwell, Michael Knight, Derek Petrosky (W) and Sam Marshall (S), all pitched well. Nice way to ROLL into the playoffs as the Post 66 Mooresville Moors finish the regular season campaign with 15 - 6 record. The Post 66 Moors will host Stanly County in a first round Playoff series next week.

MONDAY, Post 66 vs. Stanly County, Starts 7:05
AT Lake Norman High Park, 186 Doolie Road, Come ALL
