Mooresville Post 66 Senior 2012 Schedule

The JR Moors secured the Area III title Tuesday night by turning back Kernersville Post 36 10-9 at LNHS. Game was one sided for the first 5 innings until a 2-out, 7 run rally by the visitors knotched things at 9-9. Mooresville righted the ship and pushed across the game winner in the home half of the 7th for the final tally. As of this morning, the first round opponents for the 2 Area III representatives where switched due to the host Swansboro club winning the Area II title. So a 3:30 start time for Post 66 on Friday will have them taking on Area II #2 seed Jacksonville. Wish the boys well at the States.

 

Junior Moors Finish 2nd in State

At Swansboro N.C. the Junior Legion team from Lake Norman got on another hot roll and this time took it all the way to the State Final. Over 5 days and 6 games the Post 66 Moors traversed the entire 8 team State Championship field to achieve State Runner-up status. The Moors needed to sweep Cary NC on the final day but could only manage to win 1 of the 2 games. Post 66 Junior Moors beat Jacksonville 4-0 opening day, lost to Cary 8-1, beat South Chatham 8-6, beat Caldwell A-team 12-0, beat Cary 4-0 and lost final game 8-1. While the team certainly came to win the State it stands as an outstanding accomplishment against the very best teams in the state. To the parents and sponsors a special thanks. The entire team (average age 15) is eligible to return and we look for more great things to come. To the young men of Post 66 Moors, Congratulations, VERY WELL DONE.
