Fridays game at Charlotte Catholic should be a battle between 2A RRC champs Charlotte Catholic and 3A power Moorseville. Should be a good game. Good luck both teams.

Mooresville is a bit down this year after losing 18 out of 22 starters off of last years team that went 12-2. Look for an athletic defense and a patient offensive Blue Devil team Friday night. New head coach Barclay Marsh is very capable of getting the job done. We will pack the visitors side and support our team....win or lose.

A quick recap of the game for all those interested  . First, congrats to CC on a very well played game, you boys just took it to us. I've heard some good things about CC but I really did'nt know for sure how well you would play. Good luck this year. Second, as for Mooresville, we have major problems on offense that stems directly from the line play. We are dead in the water if we cant stop penetration right up the middle. The defense played well after the first quarter (all 14 pts.). Third, and dont get me wrong, but the officiating was terrible although it had NO bearing on the outcome. I normally dont comment on officiating out of respect but this crew maybe ought to think about pee-wee or middle school instead of high school. My 2 cents. Peace.

    Tank,

You are very generous on the officiating.....they robbed Mooresville of a potentially lethal run (and I am a fan of CC).

It was a good game with a packed stadium! CC defense was on fire, led by linebacker Paul Kenna. I sure hope that kid gets the recognition he deserves. Bullard, Starcevic and Kenna are exciting to watch on D....I think they had a combined six sacks.

Good luck to Mooresville, hopefully it will become an annual competition between CC and Mooresville.

Backatcha globetrotter......your boys down there played like a team in every aspect of the game, thats usually our strong point but not Friday night. Oddo is an outstanding head coach, I remember him when Mooresville and CC were in the same conference a few years back. I think it was still the Rocky River 2A then. I also remember the Starcevic kid from PONY baseball tournaments in Huntersville when we would come down there and give the North Meck teams a little tune up before they went on to states. I have a picture of my son crossing home plate and Starcevic in the background, from our local paper(he was either playing first or catching). He was an outstanding athelete then too. Yeah that extra chubby ref got me fired up....kinda lost my singing voice if you know what I mean. We learned alot about our team Friday, Good luck to your boys as well.

    Tank,
Oddo is a fine coach and good person too. By the way, was your son safe? Great story!
