    Pitcher- Morgan Lunsford (South Pointe HS, Rock Hill, SC) of the NC Sun Devils-Elite has just committed to attend Division III - Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and play softball for Coach Penny Siqueiros.

    Morgan is a great student-athlete and a even better person. She worked very hard this last fall and this year. She has awesome grades and a very suppostive family. She worked very hard to make this happen. She has chosen a amazing university to attend in Emory.

    Emory University is ranked 18th out of 260 schools nation wide. It is a very prestigious school with a great softball program. Coach Siqueiros is 7th all time in D-III with a .753 winning %. Since 1999, the Eagls are 313-105 with 3 top 5 finishes in the nation over the last 6 years.

    Congrats go out to Morgan and her family. I'm very proud of you!

    Check out this school and look at the requirements. Only 27% of 17,446 applicants were accepted in 2008. Schools like this are what happens when hard work is put into the classroom.

    About the same requirements as Davidson, and a whole lot further away...
    But I am delighted for the young lady...

    This is a great program..... Can play with anybody...

    Emory also got Jess Boni from NC last year, Played with Ray's Cardinals....
    Correct in your statement about extremely high academic requirements... just like Davidson... only they have a softball team...

    Very impressive program
