Beside the obvious, Blues & Cardinals, How are the NC 18U teams going to stack up next summer. I know some of the stronger teams have signed alot of the kids
with the early signing period. Some of those girls will still play and others will not for various reasons. NC has been blessed with many great and talented teams.
Wildcats,Cougers & Flames to name a few. Who , will be the teams to watch out for this summer? With so many strong teams from NC , I hope we see more kids going D1.

    Talented Teams 18u

Some teams that come to my mind are Carolina Curve,Crushers Red,Cape Fear Storm,Randolph Rage,& the Carolina Cobras have added a couple impact players,& will be making the move to 18u.I feel that all of the above will be very competitive,& I believe anyone team in this group could defeat each other. Will make for some very good games this summer when they match up.Lot's of D1 talent on these teams.Good Luck to all,& Happy Holidays to all!

The Carolina Cougars are loaded from 18U down through the 14's. The 14U squad is exceptionally solid and would fair well in most 16U tournaments. The 18's have seven ladies that have completed early signings but will be back for '06.

Who DOES the Cardinals and Blues have for 2006 and why are they usually the best 2 teams in NC? Don't both these teams play in the Boulder, CO tournament around the 4th of July?

I don't think the Blues have ever made the Colorado tourney yet...? Maybe this year...The Cardinals are good and have a long history with ASA. To get anywhere fast , ASA is where it's at,ASA carries the banner in all the big stuff out west. We (NC) only get 1 or 2 births in the ASA Ntls due to our lack of ASA
representation. I'm no expert , but , thats my take on it..

Makes sense. There must be a waiting list for that CO tournament because the Blues could/should compete there. But who do Cardinals and Blues have coming back and who have they picked up?

Its a SHAME that more N.C. teams do not get the oppurtunity to play in the ASA nationals. In all of the show case tournaments this year, N.C. teams did very well. How else can we get noticed? All of the show cases are ASA. All we can do is keep kicking butt and working hard! Good Luck to everyone in 2006.:bananalam

    Colorado

The Blues have tried for three years to get in Boulder. This year we are going to a special tourney in Colorado and if we finish in top eight, we are guarenteed a place in the Boulder field in 2007. The Blues have eight 2007 kids and one 2008 kid coming back, plus three of our 2006 signees will stay. We are looking for a quality outfielder that can step in and make a difference. Our young 18U team made up of 2008/2009 kids sits waiting to move into spots left open once our strong 2007 class is signed. We have some good young arms, some power, and some dedicated kids. Probably need a little more speed. Moni will have the kids ready to play. There are many good teams in NC, take an all-star team out of NC and U could win the Nationals, the Blues and Cardinals were top 20 in ASA Nationals this year.
