    HS Opinion

I like the 4A Middle Creek Program and the Apex program. There are some quality players coming from there.

I Have To Take Issue with This...

I just have to say that this is pretty offensive to anyone that coach's, plays, and/or participates with a competitive TB organization in the Raleigh area, There are some really good ones... I could think of one in particular...

I have to agree with you here. I believe the thread starter did mention his daughter was young and wanted to join a team to help her develop her skills. If that is the case, he would definitely be looking for organizations whose primary focus is on developing skills.

Some organizations primarily seek players who are already skilled. Some organizations try to develop their players to that level from within their own organization. Not trying to judge if either philosophy is right or wrong or of no matter.

Some of the organizations that develop their own players are: NC Challengers, Triangle Lightning, Cape Fear Storm. There are many more, but these are a few of the best at what they do.

The organizations that seem to recruit already-trained players do a wonderful job at what they do. I won't list any of them because my leaning is towards the other type.

This issue becomes very sensitive to people at times. They both serve a great purpose but for a young player I think the obvious choice should be to pick a team that teaches her the fundamentals and go from there.

Chances are each type will learn a little more from each other so that everyone benefits.

A lot of solid programs in the Raleigh Durham Area. High school redistricting has wattered down some of the teams, but the coaching in Raleigh Area schools is as solid as anywhere in the state. The only problem I think you may encounter is that if you don't live right next to the school your DD may attend 2 or 3 schools before they are finished.

If you are looking for your daughter to play for a contender, then the past 4 years Wake, Durham, and Johnston County have put out a few good programs. I do not want to incriminate or offend anyone and becasue I have alot of respect for everyone in the area I will not name any, check NCHSAA.org and look at the playoff brackets from the past few years and then check out some of the schools softball websites.

That is usually a good place to start.

    truth is

With all due respect and no offense intended. But what's the problem. The man in the post was looking for HS and TB for his girl and I gave him 4 good one that I know of.... There was a thread not so long ago that we ALL responded to. Said there were not to many TB team down East, not that many tourney's and that HS ball was not that good because in the East teams don't seem to the win state 1a 2a 3a 4a that often because soccer and lacrosse is dominate. So talk to me, AC wins 4a SWR 3a CD 2a E Surry 1a...... I'm just stating what everyone on here is saying, unless some others are afraid to speak up. There are 2 threads on this site asking about all the girls in HS that have gone to college in the last 5-7 yrs from the WEST and from the East and its beginning to look like that the West is starting to dominate that thread........ So if you have something I'm all eyes to read it along with everyone else. BTW 2 folks I know closely are coaches of the Knockouts and the Carolina Cardinals, which mainly pull players from the West........

    Stanly

....well stanley the truth is you did offend folks. I can post this opinion because the Fishman has interupted many a meal with things posted with good intent but ended up smelling like S%*t.
Hell I'm getting real good at it.
Speak your opinion and never look back? No, speak your opinion and then look back and see if you can smooth the road a little. JMO
I'm not offended whatsoever, and I hope you take no offense to this post because there certainly is no offense intended. Hopefully common sense prevails, East v. West, North V. South, Butler V. ND, AC V. CC, WJ v. Garner...............and others get the same treatment. Those type rivalries help stir up interest in sports in a postitive way. Even when some folks take offense to them.

    has it changed?

was thinking about how things have changed. I may be wrong, but I'm thinking back in the day............ would parents be seeking out the best HS's for a daughter to play softball as a consideration on making a job relocation?

    just wondering.
