My favorite time!!!

    I really like the opening day of practice and the first day it is around 65 degrees and the short pants and tee shirts are on the field instead of sweat pants and jackets, but its playoff time now!!

    This is the time of the year that is the most fun to me. A new season is starting (playoffs) and the best of the best are starting to play each other. Big match-ups with everything on the line, large crowds, higher intensity, and good softball games will hopefully be the norm this time of the year. One cannot help be be positive as the playoffs start whether they are a coach, a player, a fan, and yes, the umpires too. Good luck to all the teams in the playoffs.

    As I read this eloquent post I must ponder....

    ...on how the birds sing in unison. And how special it is to be........A cotten picking fan again this year! Oh well, our team was not quite at the state playoff level this year but I'm damn proud of all of them! Good luck to all! I'm looking forward to seeing ya'll in Raleigh, signed, Ralph Waldo "the fishman" Emerson. AKA, Mr. January on the TBR Calender.

    Unfortunately never been to the playoffs. DD was on JV the last time they made it.

    Oh well, maybe/hopefully next year...

    My favorite time
    There are so many--from her 3rd grade year when they used to go out and have a great time and nothing mattered about how they played just that they had fun, when there was no pressure from us parents. then the travel ball circuit and meeting alot of new friends that we'll both never forget, staying at the ball fields all day in the heat or cold and staying in motels all over the country eating that great food at the parks just to be able to see her play. Sitting on a bucket and getting bruises from pitches I couldn't catch. Going to practices everwhere together and being so proud of her when I watch her play.
    I guess the best out of it all is the time that we get to spend one on one , that;s the times I don't think either of us will ever forget.

    I know the most vivid memory will be that last pitch.
    Expecting a change-up, seeing a high fast ball.
    Or not seeing it.
    Sorry, couldn't help it.
    You left yourself wide open for that one.
