That is impressive. Sounds like a team that don't come around too often. On another note it is sad that there are high schools that don't care enough to invest in at the very least a temporary fence for the girls. Granted I watch alot of 3A/4A and all the schools have fencing but I can't remember the last time I saw an in the park homerun. I bet that it is fun to watch.

    You GO TAYMIL!!!

You go Taymil... a HR is a HR - don't care what small minded people say. Next thing you know someone will say you are "juicing"!!!
First time I ever saw you bat - you knocked one out over a 225 fence.
    What, were you 12? 13?
WE are very proud of you and...... the rest of your team. Win the States - break the record!!!

    Taylor Laskey (again)...

Cherryville freshman Taylor Laskey hit 2 more home runs last night in their game against N Lincoln to make total 8 for the year. First one was a solo shot and second one was hit with score tied 5-5, two runners on to make score 8-5. (also final score). What a way to start her high school career!!! GO TAY!!!!

    Starmount Rams

The Starmount Rams beat Forush Falcons in the Mountain Valley Conference Tournament tonight score 3-2 in 8 innings.

Senior Jana Matthews hit a 2-run shot over the center field fence to tie the game. This is her 7 HR of the year. Career 20.

    Go Rams!!!!!

    Great game!

.....OK, most of ya'll know my DD, and in HS hit what might be a record # of HRs. I asked her last night about her HS experience and NEVER did stats come up.
I know I was watching every move of her career, just as my buddy Guru does with his DD and many of you folks do as well.
A hit is a hit, an HR is an HR. A long field without a fence allows bookoos of doubles because the kids play 220 in the outfield. That same field allows what should be a gapper double to turn into a HR. But by the same token, many 220 shots are caught by the outfielders for outs.
For every hard hit ball, regardless of fence distance, that is snagged as an ESPN play, there inevitably comes around the bleeder "hit" that barely gets out of the infield or drops in the "I got it, you take it" hole behind the circle. Seems to me that things have a weird way of evening out.
Whats important is that the kids are putting the bat on the ball.
