Is there anyway we can start a thread for those that want to complain about who didnt and who did that should have not made it? Then we could keep this thread open and talk about the ones that did and congratulate them for a great season. And I wouldnt have to read the other thread because I would avoid it like I do all complainers. Im sure when the state games conclude this weekend we will have a thread on them. Can we do the same thing with the State Games. Talk about those that did make it and how they played. And another thread for those that want to complain about who didnt make it and who did that did not deserve it. Different threads for different people I guess?

 

I wasn't disputing Shelton being on the list. He's a great player, that's why he's going to UNCG. I was just saying there's no way one is there without the other.

 

That's absolutely correct... I am sure the choices were difficult. There are many players whose names were left off for one reason or another. Let's face it, we are lucky to have such good players in NC. The fact that spacedawg mentioned the difficult choices and some criteria is worth mentioning. Sometimes, as is the case of the State Games, coaches do not nominate deserving players, in fact I personally know of coaches that have not nominated players for whatever reason. The same could be in the All-State category. Unfortunately there are coaches in the state that do not promote their own players to colleges and/or scouts. Just because a player did not make it doesnt determine whether or not he is a very good player, you may have other circumstances that prevented him from making it.

BTW... Congratulations to JEFF for making it!! You know for a fact he is one of my personal favorites, along with all the SG boys!!

I understand peoples frustration when someone they think should get an award or make a team does not. It happens all the time and it will continue to happen. I dont have any problem with someone coming on here and telling us about a deserving player and why they should have made it. What I personally do not like is hearing about why a kid should not have made it. I do not think that is fair and there is no reason to do it. Just state why you think a kid should have made it and tell us about his abilities and his accomplishments this year. That keeps it positive and leaves the negative out of it. JMPO

We are not about slamming the accomplishments that kids earn, we are here to celebrate them and promote those many may not know about... that way the lesser touted kids may earn well-deserved accolades in the future.
