I like Andy and respect him as a person. But there are other places, including TBR, where a player has a place to be recognized.

It's not like Andy has a panel load of employees that travel the state all year looking at every talented player in the state. It's amazing that he sees all the players that he does.

But he must be doing something right. If we had a TBR Player of the Year---An NCPrep POY--no big deal. But Impact can have one, and wow...a lot of interest.

Personally, I would not want to be involved in one. There is no way to see ALL of the talented players across our state....10 years ago, yes, but now? no

    Those college coaches

love to get those "Hyped Up" players. All they need is an article on Impacts Web Site and they go out and sign them up.

Did anyone check to see how many of the 20 players listed on the Impact POY watch list actually played for the Dirtbags? Eleven of the 20 players listed have never played for the Dirtbags. How did they buy their way on the list? But who cares about the facts anyway?

I like ice cream. Its really good. But if I had to eat it 24/7 I might get a little sick of it. Hey ice cream is still good. But boy am I sick of it. Get the point CM? Probaly not. Because if you have not by now you never are.

The N.C. Gatorade baseball player of the year is North Davidson second baseman Tyler Hanover.

The award is based on athletic achievement, academics and character.

The S.C. Gatorade Player of the year is Zac Fuesser, left-handed pitcher at York Comprehensive High.

Get over it. If he's that good, he'll get his due.

Take your gripe somewhere else. Go to the man himself. There is always someone to disagree with every list. Grow up. :blahblah1:

The Evidence doesn't support your contention

I know for a fact that Impact does a lot for players not associated with the organization. My son is playing at the next level based largely on Impact and Mr. Partin and he never played in this state or for the Dirtbags.
Don't tread on those without reviewing the overall evidence; one case, one person is an anomaly or outlier and does not establish any sort of pattern. A pattern is based on lots of evidence and repeated successes (trials) and I think there is enough evidence to establish that Impact baseball and Andy Partin are successful in what they do for baseball in this area (NC, Va, SC). While there are always anecdotal stories about "this one" or "that one", such is an aberration, not the norm. Look at the overall pattern and the conclusion becomes clear.

Coach27 said "Those college coaches love to get those hyped up players." EXACTLY. That's exactly the problem some people have, and I think that's the main problem some people have with the site.

The site has grown in to a monopoly on NC baseball recruiting and based on many conversations I've had, if you aren't in good with Impact or on the Dirtbags then it can be very difficult to get your kid the same type looks that these guys get.

If all Impact really was, was truly just some solo guy posting his opinions on players and no consequences came from it, then nobody would have any problem with who was on the list or not. But when the college coaches actually buy in and elevate the players that Impact hypes, to a level above players Impact doesn't hype, thats when kids start getting treated unfairly.

That's why I never stick the blame all on one person like Connie Mackeral did. I just think the system as a whole is flawed, and it's partly the fault of the college coaches for believing all the propoganda. You can't blame Andy. Of course he's going to be biased towards his Dirtbags players on his Impact site, just like any high school coach or legion coach would be biased towards their own players. It's human nature. The college coaches just need to understand this bias when they are viewing the site, and then there would be no problems.

Sorry Catamount...you did not win the POY this year. Work hard this summer and fall and maybe you'll win next year. Keep your head up! :FOFRBanana0518HL:

Those college coaches love hyped players who they have ACTUALLY seen play numerous times. You think a college coach, whose paid to WIN, wants a player whose has more hype than talent? Both of the players who played for me and the Dirtbags were watched over and over by the ACC teams who eventually signed them. It had nothing to do with them being hyped by Impact. Coach 27 had his tongue in his cheek for those who missed it.
