    SWEET 16

    when is the sweet 16 coming out for the charlotte observer???? i'm anxious to see everything. if you have your own sweet 16 you wanna post, go right on ahead.

    Sweet 16

    This is a topic that is VERY difficult to discuss on a board, where you basically only see your own conference play + have a few "out of conference" games that you get to attend.

    Ranking the teams becomes difficult also. In another thread, I posted my TOP 25 teams in Western NC this year. The "Sweet 16" normally includes the immediate Charlotte area and northern tier of S.C. I don't know anything about SC this year.

    Here is the list I posted. Good luck trying to rank them. It will be a true challenge.

    Leading Candidates (25 teams) - Not in any order.

    Ind: Charlotte Christian,

    2A: West Henderson, East Rutherford, Mt. Pleasant

    3A: Ragsdale, Tuscola, TC Roberson, Glenn, St. Stephens, West Rowan, Piedmont, Hickory, East Henderson

    4A: South Meck, Providence, Hopewell, Myers Park, McDowell, East Meck, AC Reynolds, South Caldwell, Alexander Central, West Forsyth, North Forsyth, East Burke
    ------------------------------------------------------
    On the outside looking in:
    Northwest Cabarrus, Ashbrook, East Rowan, South Point, Franklin
    ------------------------------------------------------
    That gives you possibly the best 30 teams in the west and I probably forgot at least 2-3 good teams... have fun coming up with ANY decent order that makes sense!

    Sorry ... I'll correct it..

    And that's also why I don't want to try and rank them...I know I would make a couple dozen mistakes

    Tuscola made 9 of those mistakes against East giving up no earned runs, but 7 unearned runs. so we all make those mistakes just some are more costly.
