NC Sun Devils Elite Names New 16u Head Coach

    The NC Sun Devils Elite is excited to name Emily Schroeder, formerly Forbes as the Head Coach of the new 16u team.

    Emily played 4 years at UNC Charlotte for head coach Aimee DeVos where she played in the outfield. Prior to Charlotte she played for head coach Jan Davis at St. Stephens HS as a 4 year starting catcher.

    She is a good one, Great person and leader for the young women.

    The Sun Devils have added Carlee Carpenter as an Assistant Coach. Carlee was a former Lenoir Rhyne standout and Bandy's High School player. We are excited to have her as part of the Sun Devil family.

    The Sun Devils are also excited to have Jeff Soots still involved with the organization helping out as the Director of the Sun Devils, and will help the team as needed. Jeff has helped many young women achieve their goal of signing with college softball programs.

    I am excited for the Sun Devils name to continue on with these two amazing women in charge.

    Emily Schroeder brings a load of softball experience and knowledge to the team. She had a successful career as a Charlotte 49er starting for 4 years in the outfield. She was named All A10 tournament team her Junior Year hitting .583 in the conference tournament. Emily also had a successful high school career at St. Stephens where you was a finalist for the 3A Miss Softball award in her Junior and Senior years.

    Carlee Carpenter was a standout at Lenoir Rhyne for 4 years starting at 2nd base. She had a big bat and had the career homerun record at LR before being broken in 2012. Carlee was named First Team All South Atlantic Conference in 2010 and 2011 and was named 2nd Team All Southeast Region in 2009, 2010, and 2011.

    Both Emily and Carlee will be able to provide young girls with support and knowledge for the recruiting process and what it takes to compete at a collegiate level having both participating in high level collegiate softball.
