I would highly recommend this to any coach interested in improving himself and learning from some of the best in NC. You do not have to be a high school coach to join the NCBCA.

TO be quite honest, ECU did an outstanding job of hosting the event. One of the best I have been to!! With the line-up on hand, there was pleanty of baseball knowlege shared. Pete Shankle and Hal Bagwell did an excellent job of putting this event together. Though it was too cold to venture outside, the ECU staff more than made up for that with their presentations and use of video clips to show the drills and techniques. It took a lot of time to put it together, but it was worth while. I ALWAYS learn from these events.

I do have one criticism however. While attendance was good, it SHOULD have been better. It's a crying shame that more coaches do not take advantage of attending this event, and more importantly, joining the NCBCA. The NCBCA is a strong voice for high school coaches to the NCHSAA. More importantly, more members will mean a stronger association. Besides that, a larger turnout will mean that more good ideas from all over the state are shared in between sessions, and more good relationships will develop. For me, the opportunity to talk baseball with the great coaches of NC, men who love the game such as Ronald Vincent, Hal Bagwell, Milton Senter, Charlie Spivey, Pete Hardee, all proven winners is one that I always look forward to. To those of you that missed, you missed a real treat and I will post more specifics about the clinic later, but also you missed out on an oportunity to help the baseball coaching profession grow even more.

I hope in the future, you will make plans to attend. Shoot, maybe we can even set up a TBR table at next year's event, which is scheduled to be held in the new baseball facility at UNC.

    clinic

I was very impressed with the clinic this year. The speakers were outstanding! Pete Shankle does a great job with this clinic. He has a great love for the game of baseball. Two more of my heroes got inducted into the Hall of fame- Harry Frye and Doyle Whitfield. That's a stud from the east and the west. I learned alot from the speakers and had great fellowship with baseball coaches all across the state. It don't get much better than that.
