NCFSCA to Meet in Greensboro!

    The NCFSCA will meet in Greensboro on Thursday, July 20th after the last clinic session for Softball. It is time to elect officers and there are also a couple of very important agenda items to be voted on. We would like for all members to make arrangements to stay for this meeting. If you are not a member, we would love for you to stay and find out what is going on with the Association. If you want to join at the meeting, your dues will be applied to the 2006-2007 membership year. The Executive Board will meet on Wednesday, July 19th at 2:00 in Greensboro as well. Looking forward to seeing all the members in attendance and all others who are interested in promoting our sport in North Carolina. See ya in Greensboro!

    Rules Meeting

    At the rules meeting conducted by the NCHSAA, there were no new rules for the 2007 season. There were some clarifications to some rules, but no new ones. Most of the rules session dealt with sportsmanship from players, coaches, and umpires. Professionalism by coaches and umpires was addressed Emphasis was placed on the removal of lines in the batter's box by players. Warnings and penalities for such offenses were discussed. The rules for players warming up pitchers was discussed and coaches were reminded of the proper equipment to be used by these players. Coaches were reminded that intentional walks requires pitches to be thrown to the batter being walked as was adopted. That was pretty much all of the rules meeting. The NCFSCA met and took care of some matters. The results of those meeting should be posted on the www.ncfastpitch.org website on Saturday. Hope this answers most of your questions.
