Where are sectionals this year? I Would love to see them at Watauga but then again we are way to far away from anybody but FHS and McDowell and even then they would have that sectional at East.

I've been asking the same question. I don't think there's been a determination yet as to where the sectional finals will be. I know in past years I've seen them have the sectional final at the higher seed and then you have last year where the conference with highest priority got to choose the place as long as it was neutral court.

I thought I heard they were going back to the higher seed this year? No combination of teams playing at one site. Not sure, but just what I thought I had heard.

Ouch Tony. The places you hang out in Charlotte must be different from where I hang out! I have been to almost every high school and college in the Charlotte area and feel safe. I take my young children with me and have no issues.

In addition, colleges will typically offer very attractive packages to get these events in the arenas. The colleges love the additional exposure of having some of the most talented players and parents in their facilities during the playoffs.

The only problem with having the Regionals in Charlotte is travel time. I know alot of schools in the far western schools have had to be complaining about going to Winston-Salem, and Im certain it would be the same complaints about Charlotte, in regards to the distance. If you come from far west teams like Pisgah, Rosman, Murphy, Hiawassee Dam (Clay County), Hayesville (which all are frequent visitors to the Regionals), etc. - the drives to Winston-Salem or Charlotte would be absolute murder on these teams to drive 3-5 hours all to get beat by 15-20 points and drive that 3-5 hours back home. It would be a different story driving to Asheville, being more competitive, having a better fan base, and hopefully have a better outcome to games.

Personally, Id love to see the Regionals rotate between W-S, Charlotte, Hickory/Morganton, and Asheville, every 4-5 years. It would offset alot of the gripes about travel time and be fair to everyone.
