NCPreps.com 2006 Baseball All State Teams

One must understand that the purpose of NCPreps's All State is to try to recognize deserving players. Last year they were criticized for having too many names, so they are trying to be more selective. There is absolutely no way that Boxman can/will see every player in the state.

In his trying to be fair, he has asked help for information from all areas. The one's that supplied information he used to help in their sites decision. If they missed someone or someone supplied erroneous information to them, you can't fault Boxman because he is trying to do the right thing

Let me give you an example. There are players in the east that are no brainers, but we don't have nearly as many posters out east for us to know all the talent out that way. So if we did an All State selections and someone supplied information to us about a player out east that was impressive then we would recognize that player. And the reversal would be if we were not supplied information....another deserving player may be left out.

It will never be perfect, but the intentions of Boxman @ NCPreps is always pure. He always has the kids best interest at heart. And what he does for all the young men and women in HS sports is phenomenal.

Whether the selections are accurate or not, I salute him for taking the time to try to do this. It's not easy...

 

Boxman works his hindparts in trying to get this thing together. But you can only do so much, and that is where others have to step up and provide information on these young people that work so hard.

South Caldwell made it to the state championship, so yes we did play 36 games total.

 

Thanks for the kind words guys. I know you know the sytem. It happens EVERY year. The one who do the complaining NEVER has done anything like this before so it is expected.
There are always some in every crowd! We are a small crowd against armchair baseball fans.....LOL Maybe one day they will attempt something like this and change their minds and opinions.

 

Guys....

I didn't see you posting complaints about the "NC Baseball Coaches Association All-State (4A,3A,2A,1A)"....all of your players must have made that list....looks like there were several derserving players left of that list also.

Polls, list, All State, All Conference etc are NEVER going to include all deserving players or please everyone....if you don't make a certain list it does not take away from your accomplishments or the type player you are.

Give Boxman some credit....he works hard to get all this information together and provide as much POSITIVE information about NC players that he can.

Who made this team? This has to be a mistake or this kid knows someone "high up". Second team with a player who didn't even start. He played in about ten games this season out of 36. He didn't touch the field in the state play-offs. They obviously didn't watch the teams play or check out www.caldwellbaseball.com. What stats are they looking at? This kid is a great guy but he definitely struggles at the plate. He had nine hits this year(the whole season) with 5 rbi's, 9 strike outs and ave of .321 and 28 At bats. He struck out every third trip to the plate. He is a good infielder though, but not great. An underclassman started over him this year. Compare that with 7 kids with better batting averages on this team that batted over 100 times this season with 5, 6, and 7 HR's this season and definitely played an important role leading this team to the state play-offs. Now if you are rewarding players on the bench who support their team. He is the man. This is bogus. Sorry but I made a point not to mention names...I love this kid, I really do. But how can you not make all-conference or all-county...not be in the top 20 in your own county and make all-state.

I understand who you are talking about but i am not going to mention his name I played VS. south caldwell 3 times this season and he didnt start one game. I just dont unerstand that if your going to make a all state team then how about you get all the stats from every team. Thats really not fair to go by just nominations I mean what if some people didnt even know where to nominate players at. This is really not an all state team. This is just another great example of politices.

This board is about promoting players and providing useful information in a friendly environment. Some of you have decided to use your own agenda on here...it's over. We are adjusting the flow of the board back to where it was...helpful, entertaining, fun and friendly.

If you can't adhere to this, save us some time and go elsewhere...or do what I did....start your own. But don't pollute this board with all of the negative comments, criticisms and personal attacks.
