    SC in sweet 16?

I'd say that's a pretty generous ranking for this weak of a schedule to this point, maybe they can live up to it in conference play.IMO

    November 20 Hibriten Away 4:00 -W
    November 27 West Caldwell Home 4:00 -W
    November 30 Hibriten Home 4:00 -W
    December 4 St. Stephens Home 4:00 -W
    December 7 West Caldwell Away 4:00 -W
    December 12 Wilkes Central Away 4:00 -W
    December 14 Watauga Home 4:00 ( barely won )
    East Lincoln-W
    Forestview Lost by 22
    Providence-W
    East Gaston- Lost by 23

If South Caldwell was ranked ahead of much more deserving teams then I could see your argument. But they are ranked 16th in the poll. Their two games in which they lost were against teams ranked in the poll. I'm sure there isn't much difference between the bottom spot in the poll and those who are honorable mention.

If anything this may be an indicator of how the NW4A is as a whole. Freedom and East Burke are having some hard times and McDowell just ended a rare losing streak.

    maybe

maybe , the next few games will determine it, but North Meck ( now has the Allgood kid back) and even Freedom might have better power rating- Even with 6 loses ,for FHS the worst of the 6 teams they lost to is Butler who is ranked 11th in sweet 16.

But its just a guide cause West Charlotte is better than Forestview or Providence Day, Salisbury, and Probably Hickory too. (I've seen them all)
Not a slam on SC, just an observation that the 16 is pretty generous for that schedule. IMO

I too think 16 is a pretty generous rating for us right now. We have a very good team that on a given night could compete with anybody but with so many young players and lack of experience we are susceptible to a bad game every now and then. Both losses so far were to quality teams and I'm very pleased with how the girls have done so far. Hope we can keep it up in the conference

I'm not a SC fan, but they can't help who they play. This isn't the BCS. If their record is as good as the next team they should be ranked. I do see your point, but its not their fault. Also, about Hickory they are the real deal. They are in our conference and I've seen them up close and in person. They will contend for the State this year mark it down. Just my two cents.

Salisbury girls lost last night to East Davidson. East Davidson must be awfully good.

    huh?

    Not true!
One things head coaches and AD's directly impact is who they Play!
Yes they can help who they choose to schedule!

Some schools have contracts to play for 2-4 year's home and away- but most don't. (So they are free to pick -up and drop schools to fit there wants...when available)

That can be a real challenge because you want to test yourself in NON-conf games BUT don't demoralize urself with being overwhelmed.

In year's past I know FHS played, Hibriten, Burns, West Caldwell ( that could have been 6 easy wins!), but now play TC Roberson, Asheville, Forestview.
Original post was about rankings and if you choose to play the easy schedule, then don't expect anyone to think you deserve a ranking.
