we talked. actually, he decided and then we talked about it.

he wants to keep the status quo. one of his main reasons is so that i can still be his coach -- which was great to hear.

    thanks, ya'll.

i have not read the previous posts so if I'm saying the same thing as others then oh well.
Look pal, let your kid play the highest level WITH HIS FRIENDS. If that is LL or TB whatever, let him play. If 'ol poppa bear wants his kid to maybe see the light, ie, get serious about baseball, then spend time with him in the back yard soft tossing as he hits in a net. Or pay for him to go to camps, instruction, etc. One thing you can take to the bank brother is this....if a kid is successful playing a sport, then most likely he'll continue to be interested. If that same kid is sitting on the bench and feels like he'll never be able to hit a curve ball then he'll move on to greener pastures. Maybe its the football field, or maybe its the soccer field, whatever.
I say give your kid the best instruction, tutors, teachers to provide him the how to's of playing the game, fundamentals, etc. and then let him be a kid and have fun with his friends .
    Been there,
    Fishman
