Chance Veazey To Be Featured on “Ultimate Outdoors” Show Monday

    Per UGA release...

ATHENS---University of Georgia baseball student-athlete Chance Veazey will be featured in a special episode of the series “Ultimate Outdoors” Monday on the Outdoor Channel at 8:30 a.m. ET.

During the 30-minute show, viewers will get to know Chance and get the opportunity to hear his story and to learn how even though life has dealt him an unimaginable hardship, he continues to fight for himself and for others. Chance gets the opportunity to go on a huge Whitetail hunt, a quail hunt, and hosts an Auction and skeet shoot with many celebrity athletes and coaches in order to raise money for others in similar situations.

Monday’s show featuring Veazey will air again on Wednesday, July 14 at 3:30 a.m. ET and Saturday, July 17 at 1 p.m. ET. Charter Cable in Athens has the Outdoor Channel on 307 as part of its Sports View package. The Outdoor Channel is on 606 on Direct TV and 396 on the Dish Network. Check your local listings for the channel in your area.

Along with his passion for baseball, Veazey is an avid outdoorsman. A 5-9, 175-pound native of Tifton, Ga., Veazey earned the starting second base job following fall baseball practice. However, his life changed forever on October 28, 2009 when shortly after leaving a study session on campus at the Miller Learning Center, he was involved in a scooter accident. Currently, he is paralyzed from the waist down.
Veazey has maintained a positive attitude throughout his rehabilitation and completed his fall semester classes online while recuperating back home.

A pre-business major, he plans to return to UGA this fall.
