    Freedom JV beats T.C. Roberson

Freedom played a solid game in beating TCR 55-33 . Brittiany came out of the gate on fire. She had a hand in the first 10 points either scoring or assisting . All the guards should be pleased with the way they totally took TCR out of their rhythm, turnovers was huge in this game. Saudia had another good defensive effort as is her strength and Shannon was harrassing TCR so much they got a couple of 10 sec and 5 sec counts. Considering the pressure of Freedoms guards the post players could have taken it easy but everyone came to play tonite. TCR had a pretty decent girl down low #40 I think who got a few points but for the most part she was forced to take quick shots or try to shoot over Kelly's long arms. Kelly kept her quiet most of the night and when kelly would take a breather Brooke and Mandy tagged up on her. These three are really starting to play well together, they all have a different game but it works. Mandy is more of a scorer and will need to play some wing on varsity while Brooke is a bit more of an inside player who played wing at Liberty. Kelly is coming around offensively but more of a defensive presence at this point. I also have to say the reserves played great tonite! Everyone got alot of time in the 2nd half and they actually expanded the lead even though TCR kept most of their starters in. All in all it was good way to head into league play!

My daughter plays for Piedmont High in Monroe. They are 8-0 and likely to go unbeaten this year. The varsity is 8-1, so future looks really good for Coach Apple/Coach Clayton down here.

Very disciplined team, make a few mistakes, but all in all tough as all get out on defense......U shut somebody out, you can miss as many free throws as you want....just make one.

    :tongue3:
