Article In Clemmons Newspaper Confirms New Legion Team

An article published in today's Clemmon Courier confirmed the new American Legion for Western Forsyth has been approved. The article is very informative and provides info on how the team came to be, coaches, and future plans. :xyzthumbs :applause:

Yes this goes to show you that legion baseball has gone daddy ball. just read in between the lines these are daddy's putting this team together to buy son a place to play at the expence of the good players.

legion baseball is geting like a church if i don't like what is going on i will just build another church and try to take everyone with me.

What ever happened to i have to earn a spot to play on a good team i have had to work hard to play for west forsyth
and mocksville i wish these grown ups would just see the light. these guys on the front page of the paper had sons that could not roll over and play dead that was why they were cut at mocksville (Well 1 played on the junior team because he was friends with the coach)

now i guess since my daddy don't have $5,000.00 to give to the cause i guess i will just have to go fishing or something .

now what do these 2 men know about american legion baseball or baseball at all. they are just trouble.

Relax lickmy! You need to research your info better before you pout start spouting off lies about players and Dad's. The first thing you have wrong is that the Macintosh guy doesn't have a kid that plays. The next thing is you have misstated is about the Rogers kid. From what I was told by one of the other Mocksville Dads, this kid is legit and was one of the better players on the team. He apparently had a couple game winning hits/rbi's last summer. He doesn't need his Daddy's input to make the team.

There is no reason why new team will not be as difficult to make as Mocksville or any other legion team in the area. There will probably be some Davie Co. boys at the tryouts which will add even more competition.

The bottom line here lickmy is that if you're good enough and go to the tryouts with a good attitude, then you will make the team based on your ability, not who your parents are or how much money you can donate. If you not good enough, then you won't make the team. You should then work on your game so you can get better rather than fishing, pouting like a baby and blaming everyone else. Just don't be skeered and blame everyone else when things don't go your way. Step up, be a man, and just be so good, there would be no way you would be cut from the team.

Well if he was such good friends with the Mocksville coach, why was his Daddy looking to form a new team. No one said these 2 men were going to be coaching the team they are just part of many, many people in Western Forsyth that is behind this. I bet when Mocksville was formed there were Daddy's involved with them also. Enjoy Fishing!

if a new team is formed in Forsyth the players who played for Mocksville last season will still have the opportunity to stay at Mocksville or move to the new team if Davie decides to fold...Forsyth cannot force players to play for them if they want to remain at Davie...

Davie has had a quality team and leadership for a long time and i would hate to see them fold....good luck guys..

No "IF" about it, there will be new team in Western Forsyth this summer as confirmed by the post director and local paper. Should make for some intense games between Mocksville and Clemmons if the new team ends up in the same conference. But is it true west forsyth hs does not have bathrooms or concessions at the baseball or softball fields? If true, how and why can that be at a school with almost 2500 students?

I live in Davie co. and I know how well the Davie hs school basball teams have done in the past few years. (OK but not too good, unfortunately :teeth: ) But how has w. forsyth done in the conference and the state playoffs. Someone told me they made it to the state 4A finals in 2003 and quite a ways last year. Can that be true???
