Agreed, but he's young, energetic and will work hard. He was our field operations manager for our camps the past two years and proved to be very organized and focused. He coached a solid NC Sundevils team the last two summers as well. Best of luck to David Williams!

Actually, Coach Williams does have money for an Asst. and decent money for recruiting this year...from what I hear, he is wanting to bring in about 6 good quality athletes with speed. He has already had some visit and is bringing more in for visits coming up... He is looking to be done in November...

Talk about a coach being on the ball and getting things done... Good things should happen there...:ylsuper:

    Coach

Good for him! The position of the college must have changed with Fred's departure. I wish Coach all the best!

    Williams

Spoke to Coach Williams today for several minutes, sounds like he is already gotten many things accomplished for his program. Should see some good things coming from Mars Hill. I hope he continues to receive support.

Congrats to Coach Williams... He already has two kids verbally committed.

Brittany Allen 2006 OF from Western Guilford High School... Plays with the NC Sundevils and Carolina Cougars...

Tiffany Farthing 2006 Pitcher from Eugene Ashley in Wilmington... Plays with the Carolina Cougars...

Great start to what may be a solid recruiting class... Look out SAC :woohoo:

From what I understand, he did talk with the Palumbo kid and was willing to give her a look. She attended the first team meeting but has not been back since... Too bad...

I'll have a little talk with "Dirty Di" Palumbo, will call her father today and find out why she didn't come back, waste of pure talent.

    Off to a Great Start

If this weekend is a sign of things to come with Coach David Williams and the Mars Hill softball team, there should be a big difference in that program...

In their first outing under Coach Williams, they went 3-2 in a Tounament hosted by Milligan College in Bristol Tn...

They played two games on Friday night. In the first game, they did an ok job hitting but the jitters in the field took their toll. Giving up 4 unearned runs, they lost to King College 4-2.

In the next game, they faced Milligan College. Coach Williams was proud of his ladies as they played very well and came together as a team to beat Milligan 8-2.

On Saturday morning, they really opened up on fire against Anderson College with a 13-1 victory. In their last pool game against Reinhardt College, they went back and forth coming out on top in 3 extra innings, 8-6, a very emotional victory.

In the bracket play, they lost the Semi-final game 4-1 to a very well rested Tusculum team.

All in all it was a solid first outing for Mars Hill and Coach Williams. Look for the team to show a lot more in the spring.
