Any scenario that puts Hickory back into the Northwestern mix pleases me, but if AC Reynolds, Asheville and Roberson all have 4A enrollment, then you'll definitely see a return to the mixed 4A/3A format of the MAC. I would also not mind having an Asheville on the schedule. Just like old times and I would love to get an opportunity to pay a visit to Memorial Stadium once a year (varsity or JV game...)

I just love speculating on this topic. Some good ideas on here. Keep it up!

That set up would make me very happy but as far as others i dk. If hickory has the 4A numbers i don't see why both them and alexander couldn't be in the east. Btw when is the next realignment?

Basically the talking among coaches and administrators and A.D.s has already begun. They will really get down to it this spring and by the end of the school year I think we'll know what's what. The realignment will take effect in 2005.

Back in the old days, Freedom, East Burke and McDowell were in the conference with Asheville, Hunter Huss and Ashbrook. Tough schedule!

    Big Dan,

If Tuscola had 4a numbers then put them in the west and that makes room for Alexander in the east. A 12 team conference! Maybe we could join the BCS.

Play the conference championship game at ASU's stadium. Nice and inconvenient for everyone, unless Watauga should make the title game.

I like a lot of your ideas. each division would give teams five games (a six team division). Play 2 from the other conference. Leave one week open as NW4A week. Then you have two non-cons and an endowment and you're there.

I just don't think Tuscola is that big, even though other people seem to feel differently.

If the NCHSAA wants to start going in the direction of super conferences and/or split conferences, then that means many traditional non-conference games will have to be dropped. That to me, is the only real problem that the AD's are gonna have with this new proposal.

Yeah, especially since Hickory was also in that conference!

The fact that it is inconvenient for everybody makes it a great neutral site. It doesn't have to be a night game. Oh btw, night time in november is football weather in many parts of the country.
