I just bought yankee tickets. Any suggestions on hotels in the area. Never been there. How hard is it to stay in N.J. and cross the Geoge Washington Bridge. Taxi Fares, bus, etc. Any help? Thanks!

It is a great fun filled trip to go to NYC and to Yankee Stadium. You can easily stay in NJ if you have a car. You can either stay on the NJ side of the GW Bridge in Fort Lee area or the Lincoln Tunnel side in Secaucus area. Many good hotels to choose from BUT the best experience is to stay in Times Square at the Marriott or the DoubleTree or any of the other chains. The walking around at night is awesome and you can walk to Rockefeller Center and St Patricks Catherdral and the Empire State Building. How many days are you staying? Be sure to go and eat in Little Italy at the outdoor pubs. Get to Yankee Stadium very early and enjoy the surrondings outside including seeing the players park and walk across the street to their stadium entrance. The first time there is unreal and it will feel scary and huge but not to worry as you will have a blast.

Agreed. You will have a blast! Try to stay in the Times Square area. You can take a taxi or the subway to the stadium.

Thanks for all the help also the PMs. Looking forward to the trip taking my wife, 6 yr. son,(he's a pretty player in coach pitch), and my 70 yr. old father in law. The trip is really for the father in law he is the BIGGEST yankee fan ever. He probally watches 100 or more yankee games a year. Right now he is like my son the night before Christmas. We are going to see them play the Mets 6-16, and staying about 5 nights.
    Thanks again

Going to the "YARD" for the first time later this month. Have been to the harbor before, but not when the Orioles have been playing. Any thoughts or ideas. I will have lunch at Hooter's! That's a given.

Go to Hooters for eye candy but don't eat. Save room for the Boog Powell barbeque sandwiches and ribs at the outfield pavillon stand. Get there early and you can get a lot of autographs at the visiting dugout area and home run balls during batting practice. Definitely 1 of the top 5 ballparks for a game. Luckily I have been able to visit all major league parks plus some that have been torn down. Texas Rangers Stadium and Colorado Rockies Field are 2 of the most beautiful. Have fun at the Yard.
