I may have to modify my sweet sixteen list, Coach Sherrill (AC) has resigned as coach....effective immediately, I hope the school board is finnallllly happy now. But if it was not for softball, most of us wouldn't know of Alexander Central.

Any details as to what happened, or is this just a buildup of the last few years. It's a shame when you look at what he has done at AC, with their field, the players at the college level, not to mention the record they've had. They are the type of program that everyone strives to be. They don't rebuild, they just reload. Even this year, people are expecting them to compete for the NW4A championship, and they lost 7 or 8 seniors last year.

ram12bb, as you stated, built over the years and one mans loss is another mans gain......alot of opportunities for Coach but he loves the kids in the System there! He would tell you just as he has told me.....probably should have moved to the collegiate level before now. A few hschools will want him as well, but look for him to start think of whats best for his family and himself NOW! Discipline, grace and control (of all situations...leadership) are qualities most hs coaches lack! I wish the AC players the best for 2003 season.

Sorry to hear about Sherrill. Hope he gets another coaching job soon I know he loves the game. Best luck to him from South Caldwell.
This is my first time to the new boards. Glad to see them. Only change I would like to see is split up basketball to girls and boys. You would get more people over here if that happened. Other than that it is great

Ahh...a mindreader..one of many talents you have. Yes, I spoke to Larryd about this subject Thursday. Glad you mentioned scfan because I'm looking for the right moderator. By now, you know Larry. He will do it as sooon as he can

What some people don't realize is he does this on his own time. He has a real job..so he gets to it when he can.

One of the new things he is doing is posting pictures of each sports forum on the prep forum. Just to snazzy it up a bit.

Voyergirl will be posting pictures of softball in the baseball thread (under pictures) where else.. hehe..so when she does, check them out and see if there is one you like or post one of your own.

Would there be room for four pictures? If so I think a shot of of the State Champions from each Div. 1A, 2A, 3A, & 4A for the previous season would be great. Just a thought.
