Newton Conover

Great job last night against a great Salisbury team that defeated great teams on their playoff run such as Shelby. The huge DT that Salisbury has is every bit as huge as they say. Kid is humongous! I just hope there were alot more people from AC at this game so they can see how great true fans get loud and stay into the game even in the middle of the 2nd quarter when the game would seem rather dull and boring to casual fans. Believe me Newton Conover has the best and most lively fans around here. Congrats on another trip to the Hill and good luck against Reidsville.

Way to respond after being held to practically punts all night long in the 4th quarter after falling behind 10-3. Harden finally got the option pitch and we saw what happens when it works right. That's the way State Champs respond and I hope the area is blessed with yet another State title by way of the Red Devils.

Wouldn't feel right without commending Salisbury as well. Nobody has given Newton overall a great close game in the playoffs, but Salisbury really pushed and pried Newton into fighting a way they hadn't had to fight much. I was getting frustrated listening to fans be frustrated because Newton couldn't do anything but yet they need to realize, it's not going to be a blowout all the way to the State. Salisbury was one heck of a ball club and they have alot to be proud of. Seems like they have alot of great things to come in the future as well.

One of the best high school football games I've had the privilege of watching not only this year, but my entire life. Go Get em Devils!!

 

Thanks for the nice comment. NC never gave up even though they seemed out-sized and outplayed much of the game. Our crowd got very loud on the goal line stand for the defense in OT. Salisbury outplayed us the entire game and deserved a better result. Too bad someone had to win that game. Both teams are winners.
