I'm not certain of the limit today, but the high school program (in one town where I used to live) has won over 30 games 18 of the last 19 years. Yes, they do play a few double-headers...but not that many.

Needless to say, I was shocked when I saw North Davidson's schedule when Ty was a Freshman. All it takes are a few rain-outs & you hardly break a sweat. And you can go through the season using only 2 pitchers. That's just wrong.

    Spring Fever

SoutherNo1 and I went to see the Wesleyan College vs Louisburg JV game today since it felt like real baseball weather today. This was a night game in early February. Amazing!

I got to see a good 3-2 game with Wesleyan getting the win. Some of my former Stretchlon Stars had good days:

Justin Diener (East Wake) had 2 hits including a double
Bradley Taylor (CB Aycock) had a double
Brad Fletcher (Smithfield-Selma) had a 2 run home run
Andrew Webb (Northern Nash) tossed two perfect innings for the save

    other good performances:

Jason Gay (Northern Nash) rbi single
Max Knowles (Sampson Union) 6 sharp innings as the Wesleyan starter
Jamie McGhee (Kerr Vance Academy) 3 solid innings as the Louisburg starter
