    Ragsdale 12
    Randleman 0 - 6 innings

In a huge game with first place in the Mid Piedmont 3A on the line and a boatload of scouts in the stands to see a Daniel Tuttle-Nick McBride duel, it was McBride who put on the big show striking out 14 in a masterful performance.

Ragsdale got of to a good start as Kyle Brandenburg put Tuttle's first pitch into left center for a lead of double. After two quick strikeouts, Brandenburg stole third and then came on a wild pitch before Tuttle struck out the side for a 1-0 Ragsdale lead. That was the first of eight wild pitches/passed balls for Randleman, many with runners on third.

McBride came out throwing ust as hard as Tuttle and after a fly ball to center for the first out proceeded to strike out the next six batters. Ragsdale went three and out the next two innings and it looked like that one run may be the difference. In the fourth Desean Anderson led off with a double then took third and scored on two wild pitches, the last on ball four to Ben Fultz. Tuttle was rattled now as Ryan Andreco followed with an RBI double and McBride had an RBI single. Mike Whited brought home the fourth run of the inning on a sac bunt and Ragsdale led 5-0 after four.

Those five runs were more than enough for McBride. Ragsdale chased Tuttle in the fifth scoring three more on a big 2 RBI double by Billy Stone. Eric Maynard came on and struck out five more Tigers in 1 2/3 innings but he walked four, hit a batter and had several wild pitches.

Ragsdale was led by Kyle Brandenburg who was 2-3 with 3 runs scored and set the tone with that first pitch double. RyaN Andrejco was 2-3, DB, 2 runs and 2 RBIs, DEsean Anderson 2-4, DB, RBI, 2 runs and Billy Stone 1-3, DB and 2 RBIs.

Ragsdale is now 12-2, 6-1 in first place in the MP3A. Away at E Randolph Thursday night. Tuttle who had not given up a hit this season gave up seven tonight while striking out ten in 4 1/3 innings.

Congrats again to McBride (5-0) who pitched a beautiful ball game.

Nick threw really well last night. My son catches him and he said he has never been around the plate so much. Only went to a full count 3 times. Only one ball out of the infield; pop-up to left. Nick has made great strides this year. There were probably 20 scouts there last night.

Tuttle has great stuff. I'm sure he'll bounce back. he doesn't quite have the defense behind him that Ragsdale offers. There were 9 wild pitches/passed balls in total and 7 attributed when Tuttle was in. And 4 kids got hit by pitches, all fast balls. All the boys were laughing about the welts on their bodies. 94 mph hurts but not so much when you win. Ragsdale was able to get a few hits and get runners on base. Probably best game the boys played. Everyone did their job.

They play again in 2 weeks. Should be fun. We got a kick out of the game intro music. They played the song "King Tut".

    ATTABOY NICK

Tremendous job. To throw a perfect game anytime has to be really special and to throw one in a highly touted game with the added pressure of lots of scouts and radar guns is off the charts. Keep up the good, hard work Nick because the future is very bright.

Nick truly was "in the zone" last night. It was a great thing to watch.

And it was funny last night after the game when Nick and Ryan Andrejco were showing off their battle scars. Kirk, how about Walt? I know he took one of those too.

Tremendous talent with ridiculous upside. And even a finer young man. Congrats Nick!
