    Wake County Baseball Players

I am guilty of following TBR, but not frequently posting, and that's totally my doing, for a number of reasons I suppose.

So I will try to provide some information on Wake County players.... I have been working on the Diamond Sports Foundation website, and here are some links that might be of interest....

Wake County players currently playing in college:
    http://www.diamondsports.org/College Baseball Players.htm

Wake County players currently in the pros:
    http://www.diamondsports.org/Pro Baseball Players.htm

If you look around the site you will also see All County teams for 2006 and 2007, as well as Diamond Sports Hall of Fame members and even some softball information....

Here's the link to the site:

Please feel free to provide me any more information on Triangle players, we realize the lists are not complete, it is a work in progress.

    Thank you . . .

. . Braves, for the warm welcome. Who said message boards aren't warm and fuzzy?

Prepster - Glad you enjoyed the post. Congratulations, by the way, on Robert's Patterson Medal! Well deserved. I met Robert when Mac went to UNC for a visit and he was so polite and modest. You have much to be proud of! His pitching impresses me - his manners impress me more. I watched him pitch last night in the 3-1 defeat of WFU on March 30 - don't know how I would have gotten through this winter without ACC Select. I think I've watched every game on there from last spring - at least 4 times each!

BTW, just spoke with my friend who runs CASL Challenge Division - there are 10,000 kids playing CASL soccer in the Triangle area!!! Ironically, he was grousing about how their number of players is down from a high of 12,000 due to . . . . . .LACROSSE!! :furious3:

    Im a big

Solarte fan. I still miss his show around here the "Sports Bar" which used to be on 680am I believe. Its good to see your still around and kicking Mike.

K dont worry about getting bashed on this site. Stretchy will protect you! Seriously I hope more folks from the triangle will post. I got the chance to meet several Raleigh area players at our camp and they were great young men.

I miss my card partner Baseballbuzz. Tell him anytime he wants to reek havoc on the other boys in a game Im always ready and available.

    Hey Coach!

School's almost out for the day and it's 72 degrees outside. Get out there!

Seriously, thanks for the kind words. I don't fear being bashed, I just don't need the abuse. I mean, I get enough of that around here with 5 guys in the house.

Call Mac and set up a card time. He misses you guys.

As do you, BaseballBuzz! Many thanks for the kind words.

It's my understanding that Wake Forest is about to get even tougher than they have been. That's pretty darned tough!

    Congratulations to Mac...and you...as well.

Coach 27, you said something that I had answered earlier. There actually is middle school baseball in wake county. For the most part it is located in North Raleigh. Teams involved are Durant, East Millbrook, West Millbrook, Carroll, Leesville Road, and Daniels (that is just the north conference from what I can remember. West Lake and Apex are also involved but they are in the south conference.)

I have been reading this post now and have watched it explode. There is quite a bit of talent in the area and the Conferences , especially the TRI7 and CAP7. Every time a game is played, it will be a battle. There are some fine coaches in the area also, and you can count on solid players. Look at teams such as Fuquay Varina, Garner, Broughton over the past few years, and up and coming programs such as Sanderson (I remember a couple of years back they lost 15+ games, but they wont now!!), MIddle Creek, Wakefield, Wake Forest-Rolesville. There are excellent players in the area: BRoughton's Redd and Brown, Sanderson's Peterson, Gagnon, Wigmore and Wolfe, Smith at Millbrook, Dowdy at Wakefield, and the list goes on...

I will agree with what else has been posted here. Since the vast majority of posters are from the Charlotte area, it is up to us from the Triangle area to promote our own players here. Coach 27, Stretchy, ncsu82, spartanball, etc... are just a few of the posters and we are only at 1 game per day, teh ones we are actually involved in. We need more posters to get the word out!!

ABout the State Games... I will say this about Mike Joyner at Smothfield-Selma. I was an asst the last time he was head coach for Region 3. I can say without a doubt that he will choose the best players from Region 3. He will pick a team to win, he does not care about politics, I can say that for sure!!

With regards to media coverage. The N&O only prints a limited box score, the Herald-Sun out of Durham basically the same, but will cover a few games in the PAC-6 or other teams in the coverage area. The best coverage comes from the local papers like the Cary News, the Chapel Hill News, The Courier=Times out of Roxboro. These papers only cover what is reported by coaches and sometimes coaches dont call in the results.

Since I have been posting on this board, I have kept up with PAC-6 standings and posted as much as I could about this conference. We need posters to do the same for the triangle area teams. That way we can get it out to those in the Charlotte area and other parts of the state.

Thanks for the raleigh jump start.....

....seriously. Yes, the eastern part of NC for the most part has no clue what TBR is, or how cool this site really is. Not only in Ball but Fastpitch posts are dominated by the "charlotte" area. These folks get into the passing along of info as much as I do. And I live in Raleigh. the problem is not the overwhelming input and press of the kids in the west, its the fact that the majority of the east knows little or not of TBR. Your post certainly makes light of this issue and also tactfully presents to TBR some of the kids who deserve recognition in Raleigh/East. Thanks for your post! Jeffro....the marlin
