Is tonight McDowell @ TCR? If so, should be a interesting game. TCR is very talented and will be McDowell's 1st test of the year. If McDowell can keep Copney in check, they have a shot.

    Burns @ Freedom- Tuesday

    Freedom @ Crest-Wednesday

Tough matchup tonight for the Lady Titans but there were some good things that came out of the game. You gotta realize McDowell has always had a very hard time playing in Skyland. If my memory serves right Washington never won a game there in her 3 year career and Atkinson won one or twice in her storied career. So with that said this score should not be of great concern to the McDowell fans.

As I said there were some good things...

    1. The inside game is our strong-point this season. We did a pretty good job especially in the second half of getting the ball to Gellman, Brooks and the other post players.

    2. The level of effort was tremendous. Too many times during the game that the score could have really gotten out of hand. McDowelll fought hard the entire way.

    3. I thought we did okay with the full court pressure that Roberson applied. Our guards definitely get a passing grade on that.

The biggest thing to remember is that this year's squad isn't going to be able to produce the abundant amount of offense that teams in the past have been able to do. We also must do better at the stripe. Shooting 50 percent at the line won't cut...and 70 percent may not be good enough either. We have to really rack up points at the line. Tonight makes the 3rd consecutive game that the Lady Titans have shot under 50 percent from the charity stripe.

If we can hold our own on the glass and then be efficient on offense, we will have a chance in most games.

MHS lost by 16. They missed that many free throws.

Heard on the radio this morning that the Lady Titans were 17-33 from the free throw line. So, to answer your question Russmo. Yes, they did miss that many free throws. And, you probably thought you were making a wity point.
