North Carolina Drafted Players

I am absolutely floored that the ML scouts think that there are 730+ players better than Robert Woodard. What a travesty!!!!!!

Here's a guy who is one of the top performers at one of the best colleges in the country. He spent two summers at the best summer league around, Cape Cod, and was very successful up there. He has proven over and over again that he can get big players out.....what else do they look for? Sure he doesn't throw 94-95...but so what? Man....I just can't believe how times have changed so dramatically in scouting of players. What happened to the pitchers? instead of throwers.

You wonder if some of the pitchers of the '70's and '80's would have a chance to be drafted now.

 

Jeremy Jones (NC A&T) was selected by the Rockies with the 2nd pick of the 25th round (737th overall)

 

Blaine Howell (AC Reynolds HS) was selected by the Devil Rays with the 3rd pick of the 25th round (739th overall)

 

Shane Matthews (ECU) was selected by the Giants with the 10th pick of the 26th round (776th overall)

 

Nick Liles (Scotland HS) was selected by the Giants with the 10th pick of the 29th round (866th overall)

Thomas Benton (UNC-W) was selected by the Indians with the 25th pick of the 29th round (881st overall)

 

Mark Shorey (High Point U) was selected by the Cardinals with the 30th pick of the 31st round (946th overall)

 

Barrett Dail (Millbrook HS) was selected by the Orioles with the 9th pick of the 32nd round (955th overall)
