North Gaston ???????

    Does anyone have information about North Gaston? They appear to be a top notch team.

    Well let me just start off by saying that they are a decent ball club. Although, they are certainly beatable. Their 1-5 batters hit the ball pretty well. They sit fastball 1st pitch...and they can hit it. If your pitcher has decent off speed stuff and can locate his fastball you should be fine. KEEP THEM GUESSING!! They swing at 3-0 in the count. Kyle Martin is a DEAD PULL HITTER!! (BIG lefty)...pull the Barry shift. Jake Buchanon throws mid-high 80s maybe touches 90 once in a while...pretty good curveball and throws it when he's behind...decent hitter as well. As well, they are not afraid to bunt...if they have a runner on 1st expect it. Centerfielder has the best arm in the outfield...good hitter as well. No. 4 hitter goes both ways w/ the pitch. Shortstop has suprising power...don't take him lightly at the plate. No relief PITCHERS as far as I've seen...just throwers. I noticed they play as a TEAM. Good luck and go get 'em.

    :trophy: thanks for all the info tigermom - glad you are rooting for the Tigers (Ragsdale that is) Although I would rather have Ragsdale playing at home in front of the big crowds they have been pulling in - I think I would rather see them face N Gaston than Thrailkill and TCR.

    Not saying it will be easy but Ragsdale is playing superb ball right now - pitching, hitting (all through the order - last nights game the exception) and playing great defense.

    Ragsdale has three good starters and Mullins seems to have a refuse to lose attitude - he never looks rattled on the mound. Carter is set to start tomorrow and probably Mullins on Friday - although I could see Coach Maness throwing Phelps in game two if the Tigers win the first and let Mullins rest another day for a third game.

    Wish I could make the trip - I hope somebody on here does so they can give a good game report.
