NORTH MECK PONY to World Series

    This may not be the right Forum, but everyone needs to know...

    NORTH MECKLENBURG PONY ALL STARS (13-14) win the ZONE Tournament and will be competing in the PONY World Series begining Friday Aug. 1st in California; against Puerto Rico (5pm game time)

    For those of you that know PONY baseball, you know this is a HUGE accomplishment. I am so proud of our local young men achieving such a great honor. While some of our area teams have come close to reaching the World Series, this is the first time that any team has made the final 8 teams at any age group. NOrth Mecklenburg is based out of Davidson, NC- small town 20 miles north of Charlotte.

    Congratulations to all the players, coaches and parents! What a great accomplishment!

    Great Accomplishment

    What a great honor it will be for those kids. Pony will have a ton of things for those kids to do when they get there. We were fortunate and made it to the World Series in Washington, PA. a couple of years back. I will say this PONY put on a great tournament although it did not go the way we wanted it to the kids still had a great time. Enjoy the moment it will be an event like no other. Please post the link to the website so we can follow the tournament. Good luck against Puerto Rico and make sure you check the birth certificates, they will look like they are 18 years old. (and probably are).

    Congrats!

    This is the place for your post! and thanks for letting us know. We will be rooting for North Meck. My youngest was one game away from Chino Hills, CA pony world series a few years ago, but no cigar...so go get one for NC for us.
