    "Bits of Info"!!!
7 inning games. North Carolina team is the home team.
RADIO.....I know that some of the games will be broadcast. Doubt that any station could afford to do all games, only the team they cover on normal basis.
The only Cherryville game on the radio is the Sunday game. Website is www.hrnb.com for WLON 1050-am or WCSL 1590-am.
All 3 Shelby games are on WOHS 1390-am. Website is www.realcountry1390.com.
Rowan Co. - was told their station is coming, see the post below from tj21 for websites.
Sumter games can be heard thru the internet at www.sportsjuice.com, then look for Sumter Post 15 baseball.
So, if you want to hear games, you can probably find a game on thru the internet.

Clover Post 38 - this is only their 4th year playing.
Shelby Post 82 - Won the 1945 Little World Series. Won 6 NC state championships. Recently awarded the A.L. Little World Series for 4 years begining in 2011.
Cherryville Post 100 - Won 6 NC state championships.
Sumter Post 15 - Won 13 SC state championships. Fielded a team every year since the American Legion began baseball in SC in 1929.
Rowan Post 342 - Defending NC state, and SE region champions.

Are they playing nine inning games? Seems like I heard the guys doing the Rowan game this evening say that they would be seven inning games. If that is the case, barring a very high scoring game (there have been quite a few in Area III lately) the times might work out OK.

That is one of the "bits of info" that I will be able to put up here once I get home Friday. I seems like it would have to be 7 based on the time tho, doesn't it. I'll know this evening.

Playing only 7-innings since they are nonconference games makes sense, since it saves pitching.

Nugget, were you able to get the information that you asked me about?

Also, Rowan Legion always has 2 radio stations that cover their games:

    http://1280wsat.com

    and

    http://www.1490wstp.com

I attended the challenge last year and they were 7 inning games. I think it helps keep it on track and it is not so ruff on the kids playing two games that day.

Thanks for the info guys. Also, TJ, thanks for getting the radio station links up already. I was not able to contact anyone, so I will just meet them coming off the bus.

Ah, those Rowan radio guys are legends and both do tremendous jobs covering the games,,, Howard Platt will be there for WSTP,,, and be sure to tell Buddy (WSAT crew) that his cost for getting in the game is that he must give you one of his coupons for a dozen KK doughnuts... :biggrina:

Well, I heard that Mr. Platt had called in advance to reserve a spot in the press box. They are expecting him.

After saturday, Sumter plays real good.
Sumter vs. Rowan @ 3:30 sunday just might be worth sitting in the sun for.

The Sumter / Rowan game was indeed good, except for the weather delays. I think the Shelby/Sumter game was the best one tho. It was tied 1-1 after 7 and went to the 9th before Sumter won 2-1. It was a good game for me to see because I was not rooting for either team, I just wanted a good game, and I got one.
