    Question on photo #3

    I'm learning here...
    The pitcher still has the ball and the right foot has left the rubber and touched down is this legal.

    Just trying to learn.

    It's legal as long as the pivot foot (right foot in this case) drags totally in contact with the ground through release. If the pivot leaves the ground such as leaping and replanting or crow hopping, it's illegal.

    If the pivot foot had to remain in contact with the rubber through release as in slow pitch, there probably would be no such thing as a 60 MPH pitcher.
